Waypoint icons in Mapsource but not recognized by GPSr

There a re a lot of waypoint icons in Mapsource that are not recognized by the GPSr. Instead of using the assigned icon, the GPSr replaces it by a push pin.

 

Is there a way to transfer these from Mapsource to the GPSr? I hate to see that I assign an icon and there I see a pushpin.

 

Any idea how to do this or whether is possible?

Mapsource doesn't know what icons your GPS supports. It lets you pick anything and tries to send it to the GPS. If the GPS doesn't have what you've chosen, it replaces it with its own default icon.

 

Depending on what GPS you have, you may be able to send custom icons to it if there's a specific one you want badly enough that isn't supported.
