+R.O.B Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 I was talking with somebody at work tonight about what we want to happen when we die...cremation, burial, etc etc. I said I wanted to have gravestone that was custom made to have a compartment to hold a log book and be big enough for trade items. Or if that wasn't possible maybe a generic hint that could be used as part of a puzzle cache...like X = 6, and let the hider work out the other parts of the puzzle. Does anybody know of any caches like this, and if so, please post the GC # because I'd love to check them out. Quote

+Ed & Julie Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 I saw a picture of an ammo box that ws spray painted with fleck stone paint to look like a marble headstone. When placed on end, it looked fairly realistic. The name painted on the face of the headstone was "Geo. Cache" I think it was posted in the "CCC cool cache container" thread. Quote
TinyMoon & The Pumpkin King Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...01-ac284c04f08c It's a multi-stage cache in 2 rural historical cemeteries. Stage 1 is a realistic gravestone with Stage 2's co'ords carved on the back of it. Stage 2 is the actual cache, hidden inside a cleverly disguised grave marker. Quote
+flask Posted February 23, 2007 Posted February 23, 2007 i've never seen a headstone cache, but that's what i want when i die. that, and a really swell party with games and singing. Quote

imcfly Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Don't know about a gravestone, however, we live in Az. and travelled across country this past summer/fall to visit my brother in Ohio. Out west, there were a few caches in cemetaries, but in Ohio where he lives there are Spirit Runs and EVERY cemetary around there has at least one cache. It was GREAT! Check out a cache called 'City of Angels' near Little Italy in Cleveland. It is a HUGH cemetary where Rockefeller and President McKinley are buried. Now THAT was a hunt! We sure liked the cemetary caches since it was like a 'walk in the park' compared to the cactus around here We found one cache (not in a cemetary, but would probably work for you) where there was a hole drilled into a post and then there was a reflector attached to the lid~so you had to unscrew the reflector to get to the log in the hole. Might work in a gravestone! Quote
+Team LaLonde Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 I don't know about any grave markers, but I hope my wife will put some of my ashes in a vial and turn me into a travel bug! Quote

+hipper Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Hello Just thought I would drop a note. My wifes sister passed from cancer. When we got hooked by the caching bug we hid a cache at her grave in her memorie. Karla would of Loved the sport of caching as we have gotten all of her family involved in it also. Any way the cache is GCTMMR, and yes it is incorparated into her hed stone. So if you ever travel across Kansas it is in Hays just a little off of I-70. Thanks Hipper Quote

Tigeradgirl Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 (edited) :::::GCX5A9In Southern California:::::: There is this multi cache in a cemetary right down the street from my house...I think its the second cache I found, its very wicked. Well the last coordinates are crazy. But this cache is super rad, and very memoriable. The headstones are flat so you have to look for the cache containers...its fun.
