Geocaching Gravestone

I was talking with somebody at work tonight about what we want to happen when we die...cremation, burial, etc etc. I said I wanted to have gravestone that was custom made to have a compartment to hold a log book and be big enough for trade items. Or if that wasn't possible maybe a generic hint that could be used as part of a puzzle cache...like X = 6, and let the hider work out the other parts of the puzzle. Does anybody know of any caches like this, and if so, please post the GC # because I'd love to check them out.

Don't you have to be able to do regular maintenance to get a cache approved?

i'm assuming that it will be my friends who actually place the cache...

Don't know about a gravestone, however, we live in Az. and travelled across country this past summer/fall to visit my brother in Ohio. Out west, there were a few caches in cemetaries, but in Ohio where he lives there are Spirit Runs and EVERY cemetary around there has at least one cache. It was GREAT! Check out a cache called 'City of Angels' near Little Italy in Cleveland. It is a HUGH cemetary where Rockefeller and President McKinley are buried. Now THAT was a hunt! We sure liked the cemetary caches since it was like a 'walk in the park' compared to the cactus around here <_<

We found one cache (not in a cemetary, but would probably work for you) where there was a hole drilled into a post and then there was a reflector attached to the lid~so you had to unscrew the reflector to get to the log in the hole. Might work in a gravestone!

Hello Just thought I would drop a note. My wifes sister passed from cancer. When we got hooked by the caching bug we hid a cache at her grave in her memorie. Karla would of Loved the sport of caching as we have gotten all of her family involved in it also. Any way the cache is GCTMMR, and yes it is incorparated into her hed stone. So if you ever travel across Kansas it is in Hays just a little off of I-70.

Thanks Hipper

Very sorry to hear about your sister. She will rest in peace knowing her memory has been preserved in such a way. I send my best to you and your family.

Sincerely,

Ray

There is this multi cache in a cemetary right down the street from my house...I think its the second cache I found, its very wicked.

Well the last coordinates are crazy. But this cache is super rad, and very memoriable.

The headstones are flat so you have to look for the cache containers...its fun.
