Brian - Team A.I. Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 (edited) This idea has been tossed around for a little while, since it so strongly ties into caching and one of the more important tenets of cachers and CITO. Adopt-A-Highway CITO Geocoin (Central Arizona Edition) Right now we're only gauging interest in the coin before proceeding with the rest of the minting process. +Aiden's Cachers Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 very cool I'd be interested in 1 or 2 Quote
chaosmanor Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Great idea, both the coin and the highway adoption! I've been thinking of doing something similar in SoCal; this gives me a bit of impetus to check into it. We'd go for a few of these Quote
Brian - Team A.I. Posted February 17, 2007 Author Posted February 17, 2007 To clear up some possible confusion, I started the initial Adopt-A-Highway activity with this section of highway being adopted in Arizona. The torch was passed when I moved, but my cache (CITO Always) is still alive and kickin' nearby. At this point, this section is literally one of the cleanest of all highways in the state. Quote
fairyhoney Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 "At this point, this section is literally one of the cleanest of all highways in the state." That's quite an accomplishment- to say the least. Kudos! Anyways, Great design and I'm very interested in a couple!! Quote
keewee01 Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Awesome idea. Well done. The areas around a couple of my caches seem to attract a lot of litter so I intend to try and keep them nice and clean. Quote
Ryder3 & Better Half Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 This is a really great idea! CITO is a VERY important part of this sport! Too bad not all cachers are as serious about the practice! Again we repeat, this is a GREAT idea! We will be watching for more details on this one! Quote
ChadsClan Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Any Limited Editions of the coin for residents of AZ? Quote

Haughton's Hunters Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Well Brian, as I'm sure Jake may have told you, of course I would need one. Quote
Brian - Team A.I. Posted February 21, 2007 Author Posted February 21, 2007 Clarification Part Deux: Wording has changed slightly. This was intended to be AN Arizona CITO Coin, but a wrongly placed word on the coin information page (THE) stirred up a hornet's nest. The idea is being tossed around to make it a series, highlighting the CITO efforts from groups around the state, but the jury is out on whether or not it will proceed that way. It's early in this whole process, and while I would really like to see the concept of a series become reality, I can't say right now if it will. Quote
jevans7 Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 Put me in for 2 or 3 they look good. Quote
Brian - Team A.I. Posted February 21, 2007 Author Posted February 21, 2007 Consider this concept on hold until further notice. Quote
