Thot Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 (edited) I noticed someone has started an new thread in "Getting Started" asking people to give their ages. There's an old thread in this area asking the same thing. The problem with asking people to post their ages, there's no way to summarize the results (Also, some people don't want to state their ages publicly ). So, I've created a poll, and I'm asking everyone to give there age one more time. This will really let us see the pattern of geocacher ages. So Go Here and enter your age anonymously. Then look at the results to see the pattern. Also, post something here saying you did it so this thread won't slide off the radar screen. Edited February 11, 2007 by Thot
Woodlit Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 I'll admit, I'm curious. Done. 4 people participated so far...

hydnsek Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Nice bell curve so far. The 40s seem to be where it's at for geocachers.
HaLiJuSaPa Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 We did it too, I ("Ha") and ("Li") are actually in two different categories (even though she's only 2 years older than I) so we entered twice. We obviously didn't put the kids in since they are under 12.
Blaidd-Drwg Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Did it, although I'm on the downhill side of the bell curve. Of course I could say that I'm in the upper per centile area.
Super_Nate Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 I'll admit, I'm curious. Done. 4 people participated so far... A lot of people has done it today....It was up to 67 people when I just did it. The category 12-20 is a very wide range of age....but oh well!

rdaines Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 I voted, looks like this is a mature hobby.
GeoWomyn_SF_CA Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 I voted and so far the results make sense to me. When I look back at all the geoevents I have been to I would say that is what I am seeing.
Wrench&Wench Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 I'm now in there, thanks for the link.
BOOKHUNTER Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 (edited) Old enough to know better, young enough not to care..... I was number 99 Edited February 12, 2007 by BOOKHUNTER
Totem Clan Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 I doed it. #117 Well It seem I'm fairly average. Age wise anyway.
bilbad Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 I am younger then the moutains, I am older then the trees... I made my vote, Anonymous if you please.
bumblingbs Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Done. But my eight year old wants to race the >90 to the cache. Please log one in the <12 category.
roveron Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 I'll be 52 in July so did 26 twice. just kidding
SmartSapper Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 done, 20.39%, not quite the peak of the bell curve.
Woodlit Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 With 12-20 being such a big area, as of now they are only making up 5.4%. I thought 18 and 19 somethings would be all over this. I guess video games won out. And 61-70 only being 3%. Of course they wouldn't be the highest, but with people retiring early in this bracket, I thought there would be more there too.
NevaP Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Done it Either not very many people my age are caching or they aren't bothering to read the forums and do polls. (Two of us in there so far.) Probably the latter - to busy trying to understand the Medicare prescription plans.
