photo-bug
Just a few ? from someone starting to geocache..... 1. what does georgia style or florida style mean? 2. I found a cache with a premium member today but since I am not yet How do I get credit for the find since I am not allowed to view the file on it? I'm sure the answer is to spend the $30.00 but is there another way. Thanks Quote Link to comment
+stepshep
1. A cache hidden Georgia Style- under moss A cache Hidden Florida Style- Under a Palm leaf either dead or alive Source: http://www.todayscacher.com/2005/apr/gw.asp 2. A Non-Premium Member can go to ANY cache page. Click the link, "log your visit." That will take you to a page with a url such as htp://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?ID=12345 If you know the numeric ID of the MOC cache you want to log, just change the number at the end of the url. Any Premium Member can get the correct number by opening the Members Only Cache and looking at the URL. If you don't know the numeric ID, you change the "ID=" to "WP=" and replace the number with the GC code so you get: htp://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?WP=GCABCD From there just log as usual. You just need the help for the code from the member you did the cache with. Good luck! Edited February 5, 2007 by stepshep Quote Link to comment
+Chuy!
I'm pretty sure Georgia-style means under pine needles; that's from experience caching up in New Burnswick and St Simon's area; just about every cache I found was buried in pine needles. If a cache is set up for Premium members, you can't log a find unless you are a P-M. There are three ways around this that I know off. The easiest for you is to use Express Logger. I don't think you'll be able to view the cache's webpage, but you can certainly log your find. I have used this with my geodog's account who is not a paid member but accompanies me to P-M-only caches. Quote Link to comment
