+J33P KN Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 What's the point in paying for a membership if you can't use the product... get it sorted. This problem is happening all too often. Time to invest in the servers, Mr Geocaching.com.

Maybe at peak times or when the server is extremely busy, it should be access for paying members only ? <---------------------just in case anyone has missed them, here's another one
Mittellegi Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Relax, what's the hurry The issue is that as the growth in Premium memberships, regular memberships and caches placed increases at a rate approaching exponential, there is not the same level of investment in the hardware to support this growth. By implication, someone is taking all the PM cash, and not... If and when the situation reverses, I may renew my premium membership, providing, of course, that the oppressive PQ limits are increased from 500/PQ to 1000/PQ and 10/day...
+J33P KN Posted February 3, 2007 Author Posted February 3, 2007 Now its just a straight... SERVER TO BUSY ... message. Its 11pm... wtf.
+Birdman-of-liskatraz Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 It's 11pm in the UK.... so 6pm in East Coast USA/Canada......
+tteggod trackers Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 Time in UK is irrevelant its the USA times that matter! They are all back home logging the days caches!
+J33P KN Posted February 3, 2007 Author Posted February 3, 2007 They won't be logging much either....!!!
+The Bolas Heathens Posted February 3, 2007 Posted February 3, 2007 (edited) And 3pm in the West coast where they are based. It's been down since about 8pm UK time i.e. 3pm EST so not even the exucse of the US east coast cacher logging their finds. It's 11pm in the UK.... so 6pm in East Coast USA/Canada...... +CrazyL200 Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 This is getting ............. Monotonous and frustrating About time we had some UK dedicated servers.

Your making an assumption that the problem is a hardware problem. My understanding is that it is a software problem and they have hired some professional DB programmers to work on it.
Lactodorum Posted February 4, 2007 Posted February 4, 2007 It's just as frustrating when trying to review new caches . However can we keep this discussion going in an earlier thread here: Server too busy ....... again I'll close this one now to stop duplication.
