chuckr30
I just got a Garmin 76CSx and when I do Goto Geocache, I get a light blue circle around my geocache waypoint. The circle is always the same distance from the point so when I zoom or unzoom it gets larger and smaller. What is this? It is not documented in the handbook (I re-read it this weekend) and I can't seem to see any setting for it. Quote Link to comment
+BlueDeuce
It's the accuracy circle - an estimate of positioning error that's dependent on EPE and the map. I don't think there's any way to turn it off, but it may not be shown if you're "locked on roads." Quote Link to comment
GreatCanadian
The circle tells you that the gps is pretty certain that you are somewhere in that circle. The arrow indicates a particular specific point, however it's likely that you are not exactly on that point, but somewhere near...somewhere in the circle. Quote Link to comment
+Mudfrog
On my older 76s model you can turn the accuracy circle on and off. May not be the same procedure as yours but i bring up the map page first. Then hit menu, scroll to setup map, then tab sideways until you see other. It's on that page about 2 down. chuckr30
Thanks all! I wasn't sure if the circle was around my "GOTO" waypoint or around the black arrow (myself). But that makes sense. Quote Link to comment
