:D holy crao thats it? mine goes from 800 miles to 20 feet!

do you want to buy it??

i AM NEW & i KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT IT.

Let me try again. Can your unit be used as a hand held GPS like a Garmin ETREX or is it strictly an in car unit?

Thanks, Bob

go to this link http://www.garmin.com/products/gpsIIIp/ it will tell you all about it.

Thanks, how close has it brought you to an actual cach? Be honest, please, would I be better off with a basic eTxex from Wal-mart for $87.88 or is yours a better unit? I'm retired on a fixed income & do not want to do anything dumb. Thanks for your help.

to be honest with you i never cached with it. i got it an then 4 days later i bought a GarminV witch is just like it but it does auto routing. if it is as close as my gpsV it will get you very close. i used to cache with the basic yellow Garmin. it works great also. probley the most used gps out there. mine worked excellent. i just wanted maps. hopr this is honest enough? you get what you want! an you will be happy. thanks

I use a Garmin II+ for geocaching and it is generally right on. I can't say how it compares to newer units as I haven't used them in the field, but it's worked well for me. If you want it for other things, the newer units may have features you want. I think they also have higher clarity on the screens, so the II+ looks a little coarse by comparison. If it's just for geocahching, the Garmin III will do the job. As previously suggested, check the features at the Garmin site so you know what you would be getting.--only you can decide which is the best bang for your buck.
