Choosing a Vendor

I realize there is a post like this every week but I haven't looked because I picked a vendor and they were good. Even when there were issues they worked with me to resolve them.

Now to bring you up to speed...

Just got off the phone with the vendor I used for my first to coins. Was told they are turning down any additional business from me because of the time it took on the artwork (many revisions, not all my issues) and the size of the orders (300, 900) I asked for quote on my ext coin, between 100-300. I asked if it was all geocoins or just me, they indicated they would be phasing out all geocoins and that they are better suited for the military business. So it wasn't just me, but I am sure I had something to do with it.

In the mean time, I have started doing my own artwork or working with the resident expert (he has had no complains, and maybe living in Canada for 13 years helps me communicate better with him). So I am looking for facts on coins and vendors who produced them.

1. Do most of the coin companies go to the same mint in China?

2. If not, facts on the best coins produced. Not design but mint details (small text, weight, etc.)?

3. Turn around time? Production samples and production coins?

Lastly, taking ideas to the coin clubs. Who gives you the best payback or options to purchase coins at cost of close to cost?
