+dumbunusedid Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 I am looking for the "grandfathers" of geocaches that are still active in some states. In NC, we have Octopus' Garden and folks just seem to KNOW that it is the oldest. Anyone know where I can find a list? Dumbunusedid a..k.a. Terri Thomas Quote

+DavidMac Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Here is one example of a bookmark list that lists the oldest (still active) cache in each state. Quote
Jen_and_John Posted February 21, 2007 Posted February 21, 2007 A *lot* of the older caches got destroyed by the hurricanes. I know almost all the caches I found back 4 or 5 years ago are archived, and about half have notes about them having been taken out by Katrina or Rita. Quote
+LSUFan Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Since you mentioned Louisiana in the forum topic, the oldest one we have is called Wild Azalea GC763. You can click the link below. LA oldest We put this cache on our state geocoin last year. Quote
+Crow T Robot Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 This cache has links to several other bookmark lists with archaic caches. Quote
