Just getting started, new to the game...Does anyone know of any sites that explain to me why my computer is not recognizing the connection between GPS unit and computer. No place in the instructions for troubleshooting...I thought I was getting a pretty easy unit to use. Any help would be appreciated on tips for this unit. Magellan Explorist 210. Thanks

i have that problem with my windows 98 so i have to use my xp what computer type are you using?

Make sure the cable runs down the back of the unit (not up towards the top of the unit). Connect the cable to the unit, plug the USB cable into your PC, then turn the GPS unit on. Won't play well with Windows 95, 98, or Millenium.

Thanks HangnMoss, I had the cable running towards the top of the unit. Much Better now...Rookie mistake I guess.

Make sure that you have the disk installed. There are two that come with the 210 and there is one that needs to be installed and the other you don't need to.
