+bird dog 1
Last week I grabed a geocoin out of a cache, tried to log it as retrieved from the cache but every time I put in the tracking # it keeps coming up no match. I tried putting in the # stamped on the coin itself, still no match. I went to the trackable's page and put in the tracking # and it gave me the correct geocoin, But stil no match when I try to log it. Anyone got any ideas? Besides contacting the owner and sending the coin back. Thanks for any help. Quote Link to comment
+pghlooking
Contact the owner. There could be an issue with the number or something. You shouldn't have to send it back to them once you have a good tracking number to use for it. Quote Link to comment
+Kealia
Could be that you are transposing letters for numbers or vice-versa (zeros for "o"s, "s" for 5, etc.). Try all combos and see what you get. Quote Link to comment
+bird dog 1
I have contacted the owner, they said all the #'s were good and I also tried every # and letter combo that I could have had any chance at transposing. I don't know what else to try. Quote Link to comment
+wyohunter
I would agree with Kealia. check for zeros vs o's, I for ones, S for 5... Quote Link to comment
Team Macha
You should see if the owner can log the coin, like have them "discover" it. Then if it works for them have them tell you exactly what they typed in and then you do the same. Quote Link to comment
+Map Monkey
If the tracking number has a "batch" number included, don't include it when logging eg use 7Kj9b instead of 7Kj9b-001. mm Quote Link to comment
keewee01
I wonder if Groundspeak are havng some issues - I had someone trying to log a coin of mine last week and they were not able to. After many attempts and a couple of days they were finally able to. [There are no mistakeable characters in the tracking id of my coin.] Quote Link to comment

thespongefactor
I got that message a couple of times. I've also got one once that said that the coin wasn't activated yet. Quote Link to comment
