A new series of caches has been placed near our home, and we were planning to go out and find one orf two today. Each cache supposedly gives you a clue to help you find the final one. Keep in mind this is a series, not a multi. Can we log FTF on the two we find today even if we don't do the whole series? Or do we have to wait to find the whole thing to log? Team CDCB Posted January 16, 2007 Share Posted January 16, 2007 I agree with Mudfrog. You log what you've found and not what you haven't. If that means your FTF on some of the series, but not on the rest, so be it. These just happen to be individual caches that are semi-related. Log 'em as an other traditional cache. To elaborate, however, a series can be a number of caches with a common theme, placed anywhere by anyone, and each cache stands alone. An example might be a State Capitals series, with one cache at each state capital. You log each one as you find them until eventually you log the entire series. Multicaches, on the other hand, are a single cache made up of several stages, one generally leading to the next and ultimately to a final loggable cache. You can find the stages of a multi as time permits, but can't log it until you find the final. Quote Link to comment

The distinguishing feature however is whether each cache (stage) has it's own listing page - if yes, it's a series, if no it's a multi. Quote Link to comment

A FTF is well deserved for each of those finds. We have one in the area that has 80 points in the series. Each of the caches are 1/2 to 1 mile apart and you can not just drive to each one in series. There is a bunch of finding the right road for the next one. They are a series mainly in name only. There is no final "prize" Sounds like fun...... cache on Quote Link to comment

We're going to try to FTF the series, but I don't think it will happen. Too much other stuff going on this week that is interfering with caching. We were happy to finally get a couple FTF's though. We have gotten FTF on some of the individual caches and a FTF on one of the final mystery caches. One day when one series was published we went out to get them (there were 12 to find plus the final) and we started in one direction another local cacher started in the other direction so the some we had FTF on and he got STF and then on some he got FTF and we got STF. We even ran into each other at one cache! We still have not gone back out to get the final.....I guess we need to do that! It was near the one of the caches we started at, apparently we started at the wrong end!! So yeah get what caches you can when you can get them. Congrats on getting two of the FTF's!
