Can multi cachers claim hosting event?

My husband and I and two other couples (all are active geocachers with geocaching names) are putting on an event in our local county and only one of us did the cache page. So that couple is the only one that can claim the event under their owned caches. It would be nice if the other two could get credit as their "own event" also. Yeah! well sometimes the numbers matter, would be nice to have an event listed on the profile under list of items owned for each one of us. Is there anyway this can happen?

I'm about to co-host an event for the first time (in March) and I would like to see my co-hosts get credit even though they want me to do the cache page.

Tried this recently and was told that only one profile gets the Icon. On events I think some number of co-hosts should be able to get credit

Currently No, there is not a way to give you all 'owned' credit.

Quick workaround...

 

Create a 'team' account, list whoever is involved in profile, publish under 'team' account. Beg Talk to local reviewer.

 

Doesn't add to personal stats but...it's not about the numbers, right?

Well my question got answered before I pushed the enter. I will "talk" with the local reviewer. Don't know about this time since the event is already listed but we plan on doing this quarterly so....a team sounds like a solution.

Well you could either send a nice email to the contact address suggesting it be created in the future, or post it in the gc.com website forum. I know the 'mulitple owner' idea has been suggested before

If you are going to do it quarterly 4 people can get the Icon each year. I agree however that more than one person should be able to get the icon when you put on an event.

If you decide to create a team account to host events, the event that's listed already can be adopted over to the team account

As you've already read, its not possible for multiple people to "own" an event. A easy enough way around it, albeit imperfect is for one person to own the event and the co-hosts can log an attended. That way both will get credit for it. One for the "hide" and the other for a "find".
