+Bundyrumandcoke
What states/Cities,areas are you planning on going to. If you go to http://forum.geocaching.com.au/ there is an International Visitors thread, in addition to state based threads. Im sure you will get all the help you need there. Quote Link to comment

You could try searching the Australian Geocaching Website and typing in the area in which you will be travelling into the search field you can then select a cache name and then in the right hand menu select google maps. This will then show you the location of cache's as an aerial view of the area. Quote Link to comment
+The Silver Snitch
If it were me I would go to geocaching.com Google Map. listed below the caches. Also try hide and seek a cache and use the zip code. we call it post code. That will bring you at least linto the braod area and then you could click on a cache and use the google map and find the chaes near where you want to be. I'm not a premium member either and this is what I use. You can also zoom out so you can get a clearer idea whjere you are. It will show other caches nearby and you can use the links from here. Works well for us. Quote Link to comment
+kinglee
Not sure if this is still useful for you. But I'll rely on http://www.geocaching.com/seek/gmnearest.aspx and search for the place you'll be visiting to have a birds eye view of what's available. It's quite a good overall planning approach.
