+AV Dezign Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 It's now Saturday, the 6th of January 2007 ... The location is N 45° 27.838 W 073° 37.060 ... In other words, Montreal, Quebec ... W H E R E - I S - T H E - S N O W ? It is currently 6c and raining!!! I have never seen this in my lifetime, we should be having 6 feet of snow by now, LIke a lot of cachers with similar caches, I deactivated all the ones that were not winter friendly a month ago, but now I'm noticing a bunch of cachers are reactivating them since there is no snow out there. Which one of you is hogging all the white stuff? Quote
+Ducky Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Don't look for it in Nova Scotia! It was +9C on the 4th of Jan When I bagged 17 caches Our ski slopes might be snow covered but just look to the right or left and you have a really good laugh at all the green stuff Quote
Twister65 Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 I think it's my fault. My wife got me snowshoes and ice cleats for Christmas. I must have jynxed the winter. Scott Quote
+shearzone Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 we've had the white stuff since before Halloween in Edmonton. In fact, I've played hockey on the outdoor rinks a few times. It's been over zero over the last little while, but not high enough to melt all the snow that's fallen this year. Quote
+lordfishman Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 I am on a business trip to northern NB and it rained all day today. They do have snow here on the ground but i am told by locals it is vastly less than it should be. I think there is no snow because I bought a snowblower last year becaue EVERY year before that my drive way at my rental property is always buried until the day I get the snowblower, oh and I too got snowshoes for christmas so of course there is no snow. Quote
+Northbound Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 I know, supposed to be -30 to -40 in Saskatchewan, but we're having warm weather. Supposed to be going tenting to experience a winter camp next weekend. Might as well wait for summer! LOL ..Northbound Quote
+CacheMan&GeoGirl Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 warm and raining all Day AVDesign .... I remember growing up in Boucherville , with the snow drifting over the top of the house this time of year .... Quote
QuigleyJones Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Its here (or was/now slush) in Vancouver Snowed for a bit yesterday morning. We've also got all the rain and wind here too. Quote
+Couparangus Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Well, you know what they say. If in doubt blame the government! Quote
+chris-mouse Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Well, you know what they say. If in doubt blame the government! Well, that explains the problems they're having with the skating on the Rideau canal this year. It might even explain the lousy ice conditions at every city hall in the GTA, but how does that explain the warm conditions in all the towns too small to rate even a visit by the local politicians? +simplyred Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 Was tinkering with my weather transformer and think I got all the bugs out. Now I should be able to cache all year round. Sorry to the skiers and snowmobilers, but I like caching and have an ATV, so this has been a great winter so far. Now to work on my GPS blocker, so I can stop all other cachers from getting all the FTF's. Quote
+Juicepig Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Its your fault, buy an electric car. Blue Mountain in Ontario recently laid off 1300 seasonal employees Quote

+lordfishman Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 I think all the snow showed up in Northern New Brunswick There is over 20cm of snow on the ground right now it all came today. Quote
+Couparangus Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Well, there you have it. The federal government is favouring the eastern provinces AGAIN. Hurumph!!! Quote
+AV Dezign Posted January 8, 2007 Author Posted January 8, 2007 Woke up to a few centimeters this morning but it was also raining and by the end of the day there was nothing left again... Quote
+D24G0N Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Nice Job Simplyred!!!!! Who says folks in the Valley aren't good for anything!!! Quote
+geoSquid Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 As a westerner transplanted to Ottawa, I say "pbbbt" to the snow. Let BC keep it. Winter should be a time of poor golf, not a daily chip-your-car-out ritual Quote
+graylling Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 I would say there is snow here in Calgary but I would be fibbing. There are still a few patches around but not much. And it's 1030 pm with +1 degree temperatures. This is winter???? Quote
+shearzone Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 (edited) As a westerner transplanted to Ottawa, I say "pbbbt" to the snow. Let BC keep it. Winter should be a time of poor golf, not a daily chip-your-car-out ritual you must be a far-westerner! As a former Ottawan (sp?) transplanted to Alberta, let me report that we STILL have snow here in Edmonton and no sign of it leaving anytime soon as the forcast predicts some -20-something in the near future. +JesterYHZ Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 As I sit here at 5:00AM, Jan 09 the current temp outside is +9C. I should be out pre-warming the van by now. I say blame the American Mid-West...they seem to have more than their fair share. Good thing I didn't rush out and buy the new snowshoes this year. Now...Does anyone have a good deal on a set of chest-waders?? Quote
+stormcloud Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 (edited) Is this enough snow for you folks. By the way the thermometer is showing the daytime high today. Edited January 11, 2007 by stormcloud Quote
danoshimano Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 Its your fault, buy an electric car. Which electric car would that be? The EV1? Quote
+Landsharkz Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 6:17 PM PST Wednesday 10 January 2007 Snowfall warning issued Additional 5 to 10 cm this evening. .....expect wind chill values of around minus 20 tonight. No, this is not Alberta, nor Nova Scotia.... it's Greater Victoria Chris was on a teleconference this morning with a fellow from NS, who announced that the crocuses were out in his yard! Quote
+maleficarum Posted January 11, 2007 Posted January 11, 2007 I wish we had some....we had a few flakes yesterday, but nothing that stuck. I'm hoping we get at least *some* before the winter is through... Quote
+AV Dezign Posted January 15, 2007 Author Posted January 15, 2007 JANUARY 15 2007 N 45° 27.838 W 073° 37.060 Montreal (Quebec) Canada We now have official snow, yes, I said OFFICIAL!!!!! And lots of it, snow here, snow there, snow everywhere, and it's pilling up like crazy... This morning I got up, looked out, and saw green grass, so you can all guess that I left in my running shoes... now I can see the eventual cold wet feet I will have by the time I get home tonight. This has got to be a record of "no snow" for Montreal, I'm sure. Quote
Twister65 Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Ok, I've had enough now. When is spring going to arrive? Scott Quote
+stormcloud Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Ok, I've had enough now. When is spring going to arrive? Me too. Quote
+2happy2gether Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 I third that!!! Even the snowblower doesn't want to play anymore. Quote
+AV Dezign Posted February 14, 2007 Author Posted February 14, 2007 Snow is fine, it's the cold that is getting to me... brrrr. Quote
