+greyhounder Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 When I hold my mouse over picture icons in cache logs, only half of the picture (I think it is the left half) is being revealed. If I click on the link, then I can view the log and pictures. This is new -- past couple weeks. What is the fix for it? Thanks, Bec
+StarBrand Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 All of us with Internet Explorer 7 (latest upgrade from Microsoft) are seeing that. Jeremy says he fixed the code but i think it must have reverted back after a system reset. I still see 1/2 pictures too.
+Thrak Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 The fix is to uninstall IE 7. You can uninstall it and you will revert back to IE 6.
+ThePropers Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 (edited) I too keep waiting for a fix for this. I'm surprised it's taking so long since Jeremy originally said it was fixed way back in mid-October. Edited January 3, 2007 by ThePropers
+Jhwk Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 The fix is to uninstall IE 7. You can uninstall it and you will revert back to IE 6. Or use a 'real' browser...
+OienLabs Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Jeremy originally said it was fixed way back in mid-October. Any progress? Can it be fixed once more?
+Lil Devil Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Any progress? Can it be fixed once more? Sure. Install Firefox and the problem will be fixed
+OienLabs Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Any progress? Can it be fixed once more? Sure. Install Firefox and the problem will be fixed A man breakes a leg. Give him crutches(stick/cane or whatever) so he can walk. That do not fix the problem. Try to fix the problem. Bandaid does not fix the problem.

Install Firefox and the problem will be fixed What is more broken: The bad code displaying the picture wrong or the browser that ignores the bad code and displays the picture using its own values.
+OienLabs Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 The problem is still not fixed so i'll bump it.
Gecko206 Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Hopefully a patch will be released. For now, just click on the link.
Guyute1210 Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 No problems here: IE7 & Vista Ultimate also on XP & FF
+StarBrand Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Will this be fixed as part of the overall site re-code?
+Miragee Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Hmmm . . . this works fine using the other "real" browser, Opera.
+wesleykey Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 I'm having this issue also with IE-7. SUggest this be fixed.
+alexrudd Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Ask IE7 developers, then. The problem isn't with Groundspeak, it's with your browser.

Not true!!! - Jeremy at one time had spotted an error in the script code. Seems some browsers ignore the error and display the picture anyway. IE7 interprets the script literally and only shows something like 150 px - just what the script allows.
+OienLabs Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 This seems to me to be some complex use of 'standard'? style sheet, setting up this kind of showing picture with a frame. I have seen it at an other site as well. Failed there too.
+Tprints Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Is there any new info at all on a fix for this? I really miss using this nice feature... and no, I'm not going to switch browsers. That's not the type of "fix" I'm looking for.

+wesleykey Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 It's the browser that's broken, not the site code. We ARE telling you how to fix the problem. My employer has installed IE 7 here at work. I can't undo or change this. If Groundspeak is not compatible with the most current browsers in popular use, then the feature should be removed.
+Pablo Mac Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 My employer has installed IE 7 here at work...the feature should be removed. Speaking of being removed, is that your boss looking over your shoulder? I like Safari.

Why remove it??
+Road Rabbit Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 It’s a minor inconvenience (just two or three exhausting mouse clicks to see the whole picture for all you Jetsons out there), and not really worthy of debate. I’m just curious to know if there is, indeed, a fix in the works.
+Lil Devil Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 I’m just curious to know if there is, indeed, a fix in the works. Look back to post #4 of this thread. It was fixed last year but some subsequent update must have reverted the fix. So they know how to fix it... but... I've heard that TPTB currently have a code freeze on the website until they resolve the site slowdown issues. Once that is done, I'm sure we'll see lots of other updates, including this one. Patience, Grasshopper!
+OienLabs Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 What I did was changing the end of line 161 in the walterzorn wz_tooltip.js script v.3.45 From: style="background:'+t_bc+';"') : '')+' width="'+t_w+'">'; To: style="background:'+t_bc+';"') : '')+'>'; And setting var ttWidth = 2048; instead of 300 And the prolem seems to be solved! (This must be done on the web site of course) The more correct solution is setting the this.T_WIDTH property correct in the first place. (The default is 300 and is not set for the pics in the listing. For the pics in the logs today set to 110) rgds. baø
