+baloo&bd
Out of curiosity is there any virtual caches left that are located in any of the major airports? You would probably have to check individual airports. Here is the one at O'Hare outside of Chicago. Edited January 1, 2007 by baloo&bd Quote Link to comment
+GRANPA ALEX
Not a virt but a container is found at San-Lee Airport in Sanford NC, does that count? Raleigh-Durham (RDU) has a micro, a virt and an ammo can last I checked. Quote Link to comment
+sbell111
SNA used to have this great virt. The cache page now stands as proof that excessive whining can be bad for the game. Edited January 2, 2007 by sbell111 Quote Link to comment

And so can foolishy thought out caches. Actually, as the one who archived the cache and knows the exact history of it, it points out the need for people to follow the guidelines closely, to maintain their caches properly, and painfully illustrates one of the many problems caused by virtuals created while traveling. To discuss that individual cache is off topic. If you have questions regarding that particular cache, send me a private message or email. I see no need to discuss a cache that was archived almost three years ago in the forums since there is no way it will come back as a virtual geocache (but would make a great waymark). I have one at the Atlanta Airport myself. GC1BE4 -- One Way To The Right Way I just noticed the other two there are still active. GCC2D2 -- Big Silver Bird Watching and GCGFDE -- A Different Species of Big Silver Bird You will need transportation to get to the first two, but GCGFDE can be accessed on foot outside of the secure part of the airport. +9Key
Smack the Ground is a (was?) a fun virtual at DFW Airport. Sounds like it might have to be archived soon. Quote Link to comment
+RiverCacher
I'm pretty sure there's still a virtual at Reagan National Airport in Virginia across the Potomac from DC. Quote Link to comment
+StarBrand
I made a little utility for finding caches near airports - see: http://www.wnag.net/tools.htm Quote Link to comment
+TheAlabamaRambler
I made a little utility for finding caches near airports - see: http://www.wnag.net/tools.htm WOW - used your tool, set the distance to 10 miles from my local airport (BHM) - 256 caches! I love this game! I know of four traditional caches that are within sight of this airport's runway, but no virtuals. I think there used to be one, but if so it's gone now. Quote Link to comment
