+W2RLR (PIAA_NISSAN)
You will see a "D" near the bottom of each bar of satellite signal. You can enable or disable it in the setup menu and it won't work if your using battery saver. IIRC the satellites above 35 are the WAAS correction sats. It's all in your manual Edited December 29, 2006 by piaa_nissan Quote Link to comment
+Ultimate 5
sometimes they are almost all "D", your saying those are all WAAS satillites? Quote Link to comment
shivia
sometimes they are almost all "D", your saying those are all WAAS satillites? - "D" stands for "Differential", not for "Digital", I think. - If my memory is good, WAAS Sat number are 33 and up. The new one we can see is 51. Quote Link to comment
+Jim W
Here's the WAAS Satellites, Check out this Web Site and scroll down to How WAAS gets used by the Garmin receiver Edited December 29, 2006 by Jim W Quote Link to comment
+mbarb
The satellites that have the "D" are the normal satellites, the "D" indicated that you are using WAAS, or Differential. When the normal satellites have the "D" you will see one bar without the "D", this is the satellite providing the differential data and should be one from the list above. Quote Link to comment
+Sputnik 57
The 'D' stands for timing differential. This means you received a timing differential update on that specific satellite. The GPSRs typically only receive this update through a signal sent from the WAAS satellites. WAAS Satellites are any satellite you are receiving with a number of 33 or higher. Quote Link to comment
