Well, after reading BadAndy's post about Releasing geocoins...

I started humming that old song "Please Release Me... let me go..."

 

And then it hit me!!! A NEW COIN!

2. I need 2/3 other "Recording Artists" who would like to contribute toward a 3/4 Geocoin Set.

A record has two sides= One Individual per Side.

On your side:

 

Top = Your Name

second= Your Record's Name

 

Choice of two different colors

Each coin will have the "adapter" design in the center

 

Produced by= will be the vendor we choose,

I'm also going to ask Jamie aka MadHatter to do the artwork and I'll include a little logo of his.

 

Bottom = The name of your song. Can't be the exact name of a song...

 

Also, you can include one little logo/drawing on your side to make it unique. It will go on the opposite side of Jamie's Logo.

 

3 Coins would be 6 People. 300 coins to produce?

Sounds good to me. I would be willing to pay for 50 coins to be made as part of an order.

I think they should be trackable and it seems to me that people are more interested in singles instead of sets (I remember a topic about this) If I remember right people didn't like to pay $25-30 for a set when they only wanted one. you could always offer some in a set and some as singles. Just a thought

If the point is for them to travel, I think they should be trackable, but hey I'm open.

 

As for selling them, I guess it depends how many will be made, we probably be up for financing our own share if you don't want to sell them. And remember if they are not trackable we wouldn't be able to mention selling them on this forum.

I vote for this one with the colors looking the same as the other one. But where would you put the tracking #?

I sent my thoughts in email. If 2 cachers share a coin, the costs are less because there isn't a 7th common die to be shared as far as cost. But, whatever the others want, works for me.

 

Basically with 6 people and 1 vendor name, you'de simply have a single die fee and the cost of 50 coins delivered. It's easier to manage. But again, I don't care which way it's handled.

 

I also said that selling them as singles would be best for the same reasons mentioned above. If all the coins share an icon, then some people won't want to buy a set. I also want to add that selling them should be left up to the individual cachers involved. It will get way to confusing otherwise.

EDIT TO SAY: If everyone wants to share a coin that is good too. The addtional cost of adding a common side is only $10 per person if 6 people are involved. Either way is fine.

 

I for sure agree with AG that selling or what ever should be left up to each person.

 

Since we are including a vendors name maybe some vendor would be inclined to throw in an icon for free! That would save each coin person $25.

That won't work well. Too much raised metal overlaying raised metal outline. It's gotta be a box on one of the sides or something else.

I've got it! After Stereo Time:

 

Geocaching Logo or Mad Hatter's Logo will be on the left

 

and your own Logo is printed on the right, on the front side, replacing Stereo Time in the front.

Even if there are only 8 of us, if the price break at 500 coins is significant, we could each get 62+ coins instead of 50. If it didn't add too much to the cost we could be convinced into that.
