+I.R. Geonut
It's been a while but what happened to the feature where we used to lock our own posts when we were done using them??? Link to comment
+Ambrosia
We don't have it anymore. Too many occasions of misuse. If we want a thread closed, we need to request it now. Link to comment
+Cardinal Red
Ambrosia beat me to a response while I was typing. The "misuse" referred to was the ability to Unlock a thread after it had been closed down by a Mod. And it was an all or nothing proposition. So because a few posters abused the system by Unlocking closed threads, that feature has been withdrawn from the "general public". Link to comment
+Quiggle
If you have a thread that you started and would like to close it, the best way is to use the REPORT button on the post and ask one of the mods to that forum to close it. Simply posting a note to the thread (or editing the first post as I saw recently) won't be as efficient. Link to comment
+Firefyter00
Too bad GS is not running vBulletin, then you could have it both ways. You could still lock your own, but not be able to override anything the MOD's do. I also like the hover feature in vBulletin, which GS doesn't have. Link to comment

Well, being able to lock was another form of abuse - using it to get in one last slam before locking the thread. Link to comment
