+Wile E. Dragonfly
Hey guys... Recently I had the pleasure to find a cache in the town where I graduated college from. I lamented to an old college buddy that caching didn't exist back when we were living there and how much more fun it would have been if it had. A long term casual cartoonist, my buddy quickly replied with a cartoon depicting what caching back in the day may have looked like. I thought that it was great and thought you might enjoy it. Tahosa and Sons
I think it is an omen of good luck. Just notice the two lil eyes and the antenna protuding from the GPS, looks like something that is familar these days. Quote Link to comment

+nekom
Remembering back to one of the early cellular phones my dad had, that's probably a pretty accurate depiction of what the equiptment would have looked like! Quote Link to comment
gulfscuba
It did exsist 15 years ago. We used LORAN and the cache was fish! Quote Link to comment

+tomfuller & Quill
I was finding rockpiles with a 4 lb. GPS in 1998. Downloading the data and postprocessing with base data (DGPS). I also used a LORAN briefly before seeing a GPS. A few people wondered about me when they saw the 4 inch dia. antenna on top of the orange hardhat.
