Dragonmaster13
I read Here on GPSCentral website that an unlock code is not required for Topo Canada or Metroguide Canada. Does that mean that no unlock code is required to install software on a laptop or on a GPS effectively creating an unlimited software? Please confirm. Thanks! Well, that depends on what you mean by "unlimited". Generally the terms of use specify one user, but copies may be placed on multiple computers (desktop and Laptop, e.g.), with only one copy in use at any given time. And it would mean on multiple GPSr's, again, for one user. Quote Link to comment

The Garmin website says Topo Canada does not require an unlock code. It does not indicate whether or not Metroguide Canada requires one. Since the vendor indicated neither requires one, yes you could place them on all of YOUR GPSr's without violating the TOS. Quote Link to comment
+cache_r_joe
I have ToPo Canada and Metroguide v4 Canada. Neither needs an unlock code and can be installed on multiple computers and GPSrs without problem. That being said the License Agreement would tell you what the acceptable use is. GreatCanadian
When you guys refer to Metroguide Canada do you mean metroguide canada with roads and recreation. That's what I have and it only has coverage for Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, and another city I can't remember. Which is no good to me because I live near neither of those. It's useless to me. Is yours different? Quote Link to comment
+Red90
No the current version of Metroguide Canada (version 4) covers the entire country. Quote Link to comment
