Geocaching Stencil

Has anyone here made, or seen somewhere to buy a stencil for the Geocaching logo? Instead of buying stickers to put on every cache, why not just paint on a stencil on the side of the ammo boxes? You could reuse it over and over and you could pick the paint color to blend in or stand out. Just a thought.

Kind of, I was thinking more the logo, and have a "official geocache" line under the logo, something that would be used to paint the side of an ammo can. But that looks good as well.

I haven't seen a stencil of the logo available, but you could make one yourself pretty easily:

1. Print out the logo in the appropriate size.
   
2. Place the image beneath your stencil material (clear plastic book covers work very well. Actually, any clear plastic that has a little 'weight' will work fine.)
   
3. Use a razor knife to cut out the stencil (mind the fingers, those things are sharp)

you will want to make a separate stencil for each color if you want to use the color logo then apply each paint separately.

 

There are several stencil fonts around including one that I think is standard on windows pc's - you can print your text on an overhead transparency and cut out the stencil by that guide.

I've got a boodle of fonts available, but none carry a reference to "stencil" in their name. Does anyone know the name of a resident windows stencil?

Google "stencil fonts" and you'll a plethora of such fonts.

 

Oh, and the stencil font I use most often is called "stencil" and the one that we actually used on the stencils we sell is "glaser stencil."

the one I thought was native to windows is called 'stencil' - and I may be wrong about where it came from - I have had it since the beginning of time - or whenever I had my first windows box, whichever is more recent
