3 new Canadian coins for sale

The long-awaited 1701eh Memorial geocoin is now for sale on our site. Accompanying it is the Newfoundland 2007 geocoin and Spud502's personal geocoin.

 

1701eh Memorial Geocoin - Trekable on geocaching.com

This coin is 38mm diameter, 3D/2D, with glitter paint is on the ring around the reverse with epoxy coating to protect the glitter paint. We don't usually use epoxy as we like to feel our coins , but this time it was declared necessary. the font in the middle on the back is sci-fi dot style to look like something that might have been on the computer screens on the Enterprise during the 70's. The front shows Tony's spaceship flying away from us off into the black galaxy. Stars and moons peek through the sky which is painted black soft enamel paint. There is a small red maple leaf on the front also.

The price per coin is $8.25. Groundspeak and Landsharkz contributed to the coin creation so that 25 unique coins could be donated to Tony's family. We are also donating 50 cents for each coin sold through our site to the Canadian Cancer Society - Tony's designated charity.

 

2007 Newfoundland Geocoin - Trackable on geocaching.com

This 45mm 2D/2D provincial coin was designed in consultation with LadybugJMC who really wanted to see us make a Newfoundland coin! We chose the most eastern point in Canada and it's historical lighthouse (2nd in Canada) to grace the front of the coin and the reverse is the historical Newfoundland flag in green, white and pink with a popular Newfoundland saying around the perimeter. This is the only flag which uses pink! The colours represent Ireland, England and the middle ground of white for peace between the two. This coin is available in polished nickel (with translucent paint for the shamrock and rose) or black nickel with no translucent paint. All paints are imitation hard enamel. This coin costs $8.50 each.

 

Spud502 Personal Trackable Geocoin

Spud502's coin is 38mm diameter, 2D/2D with soft enamel paint on the front and imitation hard enamel paint on the reverse. It shows Spud on the cache trail with his saying of 'Off the couch...on the trail!' around the perimeter on the front. The back displays a stylized Canadian flag. The mint made an error on the original batch and minted it with imitation hard enamel paint on both sides. They of course offered to run another batch with the soft enamel on the front. Rather than throw out the wrong batch, we decided to share them with the customers. When you buy this coin, you will get two with matching tracking numbers. Keep one and release one! This coin costs $8.25 each (for 2).
