+DubbleD70
From Hee Haw: "Where o' where are you tonight? Why did you leave me here all alone? I searched the world over and thought I found true love.... You met another and pfffttttttt, you was gone........." Those under 40, ask your folks! Under 36.... I used to watch it all the time. +2qwerqE
'I Know You're Out There Somewhere' by the Moody Blues I know you're out there somewhere somewhere somewhere I know I'll find you somewhere and somehow I'll return again to you the mist is lifting slowly I can see the way ahead and I've left behind the empty streets that once inspired my life and the strength of the emotion is like thunder in the air 'cos the promise that we made each other haunts me to the end the secret of your beauty and the mystery of your soul I've been searching for in everyone I meet and the times I've been mistaken it's impossible to say and the grass is growing underneath our feet the words that I remember from my childhood still are true that there's none so blind as those who will not see and to those who lack the courage and say it's dangerous to try well they just don't know that love eternal will not be denied you know it's going to happen I can feel you getting near and soon we'll be returning to the fountains of our youth and if you wake up wondering in the darkness I'll be there my arms will close around you and protect you with the truth I know you're out there somewhere somewhere somewhere I know you're out there somewhere somewhere you can hear my voice I know I'll find you somehow somehow somehow I know I'll find you somehow and somehow I'll return again to you * repetitive chorus deleted several times... Dinoprophet
Going Wodwo Lyrics by Neil Gaiman Music by Folk UnderGround Shedding my shirt, my book, my coat, my life Leaving them, empty husks and fallen leaves, Going in search of food and for a spring Of sweet water Of sweet water (chorus) I’ll find a tree as wide as ten fat men Clear water rilling over its grey roots Berries I’ll find and crabapples and nuts, And call it home I’ll tell the wind my name, and no one else. True madness takes or leaves us in the wood halfway through all our lives. My skin will be my face now. My face now (chorus) I must be nuts. Sense left with shoes and house, my guts are cramped. I’ll stumble through the green back to my roots, and leaves and thorns and birds, and shiver. And shiver (chorus) I’ll leave the way of words and walk the wood I’ll be the forest man, and greet the sun, And feel the silence blossom on the tongue like language like language like language like language (chorus) (Good luck finding this song, but I recommend seeking it out. It came included with my Rio MP3 player, and it is fantastic. And yes, it's that Neil Gaiman). Edited December 8, 2006 by Dinoprophet Quote Link to comment

+flamejobgrrl
My friend used to do a RRQFTD: Rock and Roll Quote for the Day - to sum up how things went in our communication book at work. In the spirit of the RRQFTD: Hemingway Corner (not sure if they are the original or not) - Signs Sign Sign everywhere a sign Blocking out the scenery breaking my mind Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign And the sign said anybody caught trespassing would be shot on sight So I jumped on the fence and yelled at the house, Hey! what gives you the right To put up a fence to keep me out or to keep mother nature in If God was here, he'd tell you to your face, man you're some kinda sinner And the sign said everybody welcome, come in, kneel down and pray But when they passed around the plate at the end of it all, I didn't have a penny to pay, so I got me a pen and a paper and I made up my own little sign I said thank you Lord for thinking about me, I'm alive and doing fine Of course there is also Woody Guthrie - This land is your land as a good follow-up to this one. Someone should make an official CD. Quote Link to comment

+Bamboogirl
Hemingway Corner (not sure if they are the original or not) - Signs 5-Man electrical Band - 1970 Man, I must be old since I can remember it being played all the stinking time! But for now, after a bunch of DNFs or crawling across some hideous lava field or spider-infested shrubbery, I think AC/DC Highway to Hell works just fine. Quote Link to comment
