From Hee Haw:

"Where o' where are you tonight? Why did you leave me here all alone?

I searched the world over and thought I found true love....

You met another and pfffttttttt, you was gone........."

Those under 40, ask your folks!

:tired: Guess I better go to church on Sunday.

There needs to be a official geocache song or at least a adopted song to geocaching. What do you guys think?

I posted this awhile back:

It has been my caching anthem for monhs:

All My Life

by Foo Fighters

All my life I've been searching for something

something never comes never leads to nothing

nothing satisfies but I'm getting close

closer to the prize at the end of the rope

all night long I dream of the day

when it comes around and it's taken away

leaves me with the feeling that I feel the most

feel it come to life when I see your ghost

calm down don't you resist

you've such a delicate wrist

and if I give it a twist

something to hold when I lose my grip

will I find something in there

to give me just what I need

another reason to bleed

one by one hidden up my sleeve

Don't let it go to waste, I love it but I hate the taste

weight keep pinning me down

will I find a believer

another one who believes

another one to deceive

over and over down on my knees

if I get any closer

and if you open up wide

and if you let me inside

on and on I've got nothing to hide

then I'm done done on to the next one

done and I'm done and I'm on to the next

(Stolen & slightly altered for the occasion)

Briansnat, dressed in kilts left the woods one evening there,

and one could tell by how he walked, he'd drunk more than his share.

He stumbled on until he could no longer keep his feet,

then staggered off into the grass to sleep beside the street.

Later on two young & lovely girls just happened by.

And one said to the other, with a twinkle in her eye,

"See yon sleeping cacher, so strong and handsome built,

I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt".

They creeped up to the sleeping cacher quite as could be,

and lifted up his kilt above the waist so they could see.

And there behold, for them to see, beneath his Scottish skirt,

was nothing but what God had blessed him with upon his birth.

They marvelled for a moment, then one said "We best be gone.

But let's leave a present for our friend before we move along".

So as a gift they left a blue silk ribbon, tied into a bow,

around the bonnie star of Brian's kilt lifting show.

Briansnat woke to nature's call and stumbled for the trees.

Behind a bush he lifts his kilt and he gawks at what he sees.

And in a startled voice he says, to what's before his eyes;

"My friend I don't know where you've been, but I see you've won first prize".

Here is one that I wrote:

Caching through the snow, Garmin shows the way.

Over the fields we go, laughing all the way.

Got my PDA, unit's on backlight

Oh what fun it is to sing a geo song tonight

Geocache, geocache, geocache all day

Oh what fun it is to find a geocache today

Its sung to the tune of Purple Haze.

The two I was going to nominate are already taken -

Don't Tell my Wife I'm out Geocaching (Public domain by TeamPearce)

I'm Goin' on a GPS Hunt (Movie theme, REALLY gets stuck in your head!)

Another one I like is

Satellites by Rythm Corps (I know no one ever heard of this, but it fits, kinda)

Now I'll have to compile a geocaching CD with the ideas from this thread...

Anyhow, there are days I can't find squat and this Marshall Tucker song goes through my head:

Can't You See! Can't You See!

What that geocache has been doin' to me!

I can't believe on one said this yet.. or did I miss it?

Johnny Cash

I Walk The Line

I keep a close watch on this heart of mine

I keep my eyes wide open all the time

I keep the ends out for the tie that binds

Because you're mine, I walk the line

I find it very, very easy to be true

I find myself alone when each day is through

Yes, I'll admit that I'm a fool for you

Because you're mine, I walk the line

As sure as night is dark and day is light

I keep you on my mind both day and night

And happiness I've known proves that it's right

Because you're mine, I walk the line

You've got a way to keep me on your side

You give me cause for love that I can't hide

For you I know I'd even try to turn the tide

Because you're mine, I walk the line

I keep a close watch on this heart of mine

I keep my eyes wide open all the time

I keep the ends out for the tie that binds

Because you're mine, I walk the line

Suggestion #1: "If I Only Had a Brain..." from the Wizard of Oz. (also my theme song at work...)

Suggestion #2: George Carlin's "7 Dirty Words You Can't Say on Television" (OK, so it's not a theme song...it's still applicable when I can't find the cache!)

...so you can cache your finger but you can't finger your cache?

"A one-armed man was arrested at City Park Lake today for disturbing the other boaters by continuously rowing in a circle..." - Could the same be said for cachers continuously searching in a circle??? (We may have to spawn a George Carlin riffs thread if this digresses too far...)

2. Atheism is a non-prophet organization.

3. If man evolved from monkeys and apes, why do we still have monkeys and apes?

4. I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I made a DVD slideshow movie of my photography from 3.5 years of caching. Here's the coundtrack of the movie:

'What a wonderful World' by Louis Armstrong

'Blue Skies' Willie Nelson version

'On the Road Again' Willie nelson

'Searchlight' John fogerty (night caching)

Oh the midnight

Need a searchlight

I walk along the rocky shore

The place I lost myself

I search the water look in the sky

I hear the cries for help

I trace myfootsteps down to the sea

But then the path disappears

Here in the darkness I'm runnin' blind

Been stumblin' for all of these years

'Wheel in the Sky' Foreigner 'Wheel in the sky keeps on turning. Don't know where I'll be tomorrow....'

'Who'll Stop the Rain' Creedence

'The Long and Winding Road' Beatles

'Looking for It (Jann Arden): We are looking for it

We need to find but one thing good

And under every star (I'm finding Heaven)

In every breath of air (I'm finding Heaven)

In everything I have (I'm finding Heaven)

In everything I am... oh

The world is big, the world is bad

But I will find the beauty

I see a vision in my head

I am looking for it

'Still haven't found what I'm Looking For' U2

'I get by with a Little Help From My Friends' Beatles

'The Bright Side of the Road' Van Morrison

Into this life we're born

Baby sometimes we don't know why

And time seems to go by so fast

In the twinkling of an eye

Let's enjoy it while we can

Won't you help me sing my song

From the dark end of the street

To the bright side of the road

'Life is a Highway' Tom Cochran

Knock me down get back up again

You're in my blood

I'm not a lonely man

There's no load I can't hold

Road so rough this I know

I'll be there when the light comes in

Just tell 'em we're survivors

If you're going my way

I wanna drive it all night long

'Be Free' Loggins and Messina

I Want to get away and live my life in the rivers and trees

I want to spend my days making rhymes and be free

'Watching the River run' Loggins and Messina

And it goes on and on, oh, watching the river run,

Further and further from things that we've done,

Leaving them one by one.

And we have just begun watching the river run.

Listening, learning and yearning to

Run, river, run.

'Way Over Yonder' Carole King

Way over yonder is a place that I know

Where I can find shelter from huger and cold

And the sweet tasting good life is easily found

Way over yonder - that's where I'm bound

I know when I get there, the first thing I'll see

Is the sun shining golden - shining rigth down on me

Then trouble's gonna lose me - worry leave me behind

And I'll stand up proudly in true peace of mind

Way over yonder is a place I have seen

In a garden of widsom from some long ago dream

There were a couple more, but they escape me just now. I thought about using Proclaimers' '500 Miles' but other than the line' I have walked 500 miles and I will walk 500 more,' nothing much works.
