+SXParx
Essex Country Parks geocoins - designed by Geotrowel - have finally arrived in the UK and have been released by Customs. The front of each coin shows a stylised tree with the map of Essex making up the top of the tree, the name of the counties 9 Country Parks are engraved around the outer circle. The reverse side has the Essex coat of arms (Sea Axe) and a quote from Einstein about nature engraved around the outer circle. We have had 252 coins minted, and 4 versions - 63 coins in each version - Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Coins are Trackable on GC.com with customised icon If anyone is interested in purchasing any please email Michelle (SXParx) ......... geocaching@trailnet.org.uk, to order and for payment details. These will only be available at Essex Country Park events or via SXParx Each coin costs £8.00 plus £2 p+p (flat rate postage no matter how many coins you oder) - payment via paypal. These coins are absolutely amazing IRL my photography skills however are not and these photos don't do the coins justice. Quote Link to comment

Gamma Ray
Is there a Somerset Coin? I really want my own coin and I want it to be something that relates to me. A Somerset one would fit the bill perfectly! does one exist? Quote Link to comment
+The Blorenges
I'm fairly certain that there's never been a Somerset geocoin produced BUT last summer the UK's 2nd Mega Geocaching event was held in Weston-Super-Mare and a special geocoin was designed and created for that event. You can see what it looks like on the link to one of them below: "Roll out the barrel" geocoin. These coins were only available to those who were supporters / or attended that event and I don't know whether any of the geocaching sellers still have any available (but I doubt it). If you wanted one you might be able to get one from a UK geocacher who has a spare one to sell. MrsB Quote Link to comment

See i want a personal coin that i can just use to log my mileage, im not particularly looking to start a collection, so would like to have a coin that represents me Are there many collectors in the UK or in general who buy regional coins? im half tempted to design and have one made (ive seen quotes for around £400 banded about on the forums for 100 coins.. would money be made back on them? do you reckon? I was thinking something along the lines of that rather beautiful Essex coin above, but of course tailored for Somerset. Edited April 8, 2010 by SDewer Quote Link to comment

+Eclectic Penguin
Just to let folks know that the South Wales Miner's Protector Lamp is now available for sale and that the golfer's coins are now also available for pre-sale (and should be ready for shipping within the next week). They're currently being sold on my personal shopping cart pending the completion of the new South Wales Geocachers cart. Note that the tracking number (where the word SAMPLE has been etched) is actually slightly curved inline with the rounded design of the coin. +Stuey
I have a couple of United Kingdom geocoins available for sale. Email me if you are interested and I'll point you in the right direction. Issued in 2005, they were one of the first (if not THE first) UK Geocoins. These are both unactivated, but one can not be activated as it is a misprint with a 7 digit trackable code. Collectable, or junk? You decide! The other one is unused/unactivated and ready to go! Quote Link to comment

+The Klever Boys
As Bear and Ragged mentions, it is indeed possible to get them from over here in the UK, but I have found that you usually end up paying more for some reason. I have ordered the Somerset coin, along with two Compass Rose 2010 coins directly from Coins & Pins at a total cost of just over $38, including handling, shipping, etc. That works out at around £24-25 for the three. I bet you will struggle to get any of these in the UK for less than £9.99, and I suspect the Compass Roses will be even more. This also doesn't take into account any postage that might apply. I buy a lot of coins, and would love to get them from over here, but get put off having to pay more, get them slower and a number of coins sell out and if you don't pre-order them, you won't ever get one! +Eclectic Penguin
Announcing what we think is a unique Geocoin coming under the umbrella of Mega Wales 2011 fundraising - and although our two previous Geocoins (Miner's lamp and Golfing coin) were also fund raisers for the Mega, this is the first of our coins to actually bear the wording Mega Wales 2011. What's unique about them? Well, they're not made from metal - they're going to be hand crafted Welsh slate discs that have been laser etched with the coin's design. 100% made in Wales, down to the rock they're made on. We're looking at two different designs for the second side - the first can be seen above and the second below. There's a fuller description and another image on the main coin forum. We were initially thinking of making 50 due to the high cost (ball park figure of £12.50) but we're over half way to that number in definite expressions of interest already. These could well be available for sale within a couple of weeks as they're going to be manufactured byIdentilase Ltd, which is quite local to where I live.
