Is there a limit to the size of Mini SD card that one can use in this unit. It comes with a 64mb one, but I was thinking of buying a one gig one, but want to be sure that it will work ok.

You should do a search and you'll find plenty of information already here.

The short answer is no, the only limit is 2025 map segments. Some folks are even using 2 gb cards. Also stay away from the high speed (Ultra II) cards........ They DON'T work.

Thanks, just what I wanted to know.

You also need a microSD card, not a miniSD card.

I also have the GPSMap 60CSx and am using a 2Gb Sandisk Micro SD card. I found mine on eBay from this vendor.

As for the High Speed cards not working, I think this may be inaccuarate. My card is listed as high speed and seems to function properly. I am, however, working from an Apple platform not PC but I wouldn't think that would make a difference.

I verify that the above card is accessable via GPSr through

Setup/Interface/USB Mass Storage. When the Volume mounts on my Mac's desktop I can see it's properties using (apple+I) Info. Capacity is presently 1.89 Gb. Here's what I see.

From Garmin's Web Site:

"Although any brand of the micro SD card should work without any problems, Garmin recommends using SanDisk or Kingston brand cards. The only exception is that the SanDisk Ultra II 1 Gb cards are currently not compatible with the "x" series Garmin GPS units."

DO NOT use the Sandisk Ultra II cards. High speed might be OK as long as it's not an Ultra II card. I have a Kingston 1GB card in mine, works fine.

Garmin says that the largest card that can be used is 1 GB, however others here have had success with 2GB cards.
