How To Change a Multi-Cache To Regular Caches

How do you change a Multi-Cache listing to a regular cache listing? The coordinates of any of the caches would not change. The type cache is now unchangable when you try to edit it...or am I over looking something.

I would like the Cacher to have a choice between doing the Cache the regular way (multi-cache numeric order) or just out for some quick finds (picking the caches he wants to get).

You can't or its not recommended.

I wanted to change one of my multi's because part #2 kept coming up missing (either by muggles or critters). The reviewer for my area said it can't be done because some poeple will have already logged it as a multi, then you change it to a regular............

She recommended I archive it and re-do it as a single, however I just removed part #2. Its still a multi.

If I lived in Wisconsin I would do your Multi. In order as originally intended. If you subsequently were able to have it changed to a Regular Cache it would mess up my statistics and I would lose credit for a Multi. Some people collect Coin Icons. Some people accumulate TB credits. My most important stat is my Multi count. Always looking for the time / opportunity to do another one. And I would be very unhappy with you.

I'm glad TPTB won't let you do that. You must have spent some time and effort setting this up. Are you just looking for ways to get people to log this? I've been giving some thought to setting up my owm Multi. I expect it might not get a lot of activity. But from anyone that does make the effort I would hope to get better logs than cut and paste or TFTC. That would make it worthwile.

This took a while to set up, but not much activity. There is quite a bit of walking involved...and maybe that is scaring people away. Maybe it is because winter is coming and people don't want to walk around in that.

I'll let it sit there as is.....

It is interesting to know that if a cache was changed, you statistics would change. I figured that no matter what happened, you would get credit for what you found on the day you found it.

Some people enjoy easy caches, some like hard ones. Many enjoy both at one time or another. I see you've placed 7 caches, and all but the one are single stage. If it were me, I'd leave the multi just as it is; you already have 6 other caches for the easy folks.

BTW, and this is a bit off topic....

When I looked at your profile to see your cache hides, it says you are in TX. Your ham call also puts you in TX; as does your website. Yet all your caching is done in Wisconsin; and you haven't even logged a find in TX. Just wondering, that's all.

I'm from the Dallas area and came up to Madison for a government computer contract. I used to do a lot of metal detecting using a Fisher CZ-70 Pro ad never heard of Geocaching until I saw it on the news (made by CommanderUSN) up here in Madison.

Metal detecting was becoming harder because it was being prohibited in more and more places and I was looking for something new. When I saw that news segment, I went out and bought a Garmin 60Csx, logged on to geocacher.com, joined and went out Geocaching.

The Ham license (K2EOK) I originally got back in the 60's as a novice (WN2EOK) in New Jersey, the general exam was taken at the New York FCC field office where you had to tap out the code. I just kept the call sign and changed the address....and eventually upgraded to an Extra class (20 wpm code).

I've been up here for 1/12 years now...no telling when the contract will end...and when I do go back, I have some local Geocachers here ready to adopt the caches...but until then, I'll maintain them. I just try to add to the fun.
