+Team Sand Dollar Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 I'm not to sure what I think of these proof and/or metal selections. I haven't given the go ahead and am requesting feedback from the rest of you. Keep in mind the actual numbering wil be a PCXXXX tracking number. Team Sand Dollar Quote
+Windrose Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Wow, I like them. I think the gold is especially nice looking (and I don't usually care for gold coins). Glad we've got a trade arrainged. Windrose Quote
glennk721 Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 TSD, The Silver and Black look too (very) similar to the V2 non trackables do you have the ability to change the metals finishes perhaps something that will set them apart a bit more ?? , Love the Gold though,, Quote
+Crowesfeat30 Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Lovely coins! Were the non trackable version smooth like these or textured? Textured might be nice but smooth is also. I particularly like the gold one and the black and silver ones are also very nice. CF30 Quote
+MustangJoni Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 I really like them. I have a silver V2, but still look forward to adding this one to my collection! Quote
+MommyFinder Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 (edited) I ordered the gold and silver (already have the black nickel in the non-trackable), and I think they're both gorgeous! No changes necessary! Edited November 17, 2006 by MommyFinder Quote
gridlox Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 I agree. I really like the gold the best as well. D-man Quote
+AtwellFamily Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Nice, Very Nice. I'll glad I have a trade in for these. Quote
+Team Sand Dollar Posted November 17, 2006 Author Posted November 17, 2006 I am most unhappy with the black. I wanted a flat black that would be more like a live sand dollar. It was supposted to be enough different from the V2. I will see about getting it changed. The silver is close to the V2 but is not antiqued so I figure it is different enough plus the misty silver has been the most requested of the 3. All the coins have had a smooth finish. I was told they could not do a sand blast finish and was hoping the misty finish would be a little less smooth. Team Sand Dollar Quote
+3doxies Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 I like them too and I agree that the gold is the most striking. I see what you mean about the black nickel though... Very nice work! Quote
+fox-and-the-hound Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Very pretty, but definitely agree the black is too shiny to see well. I think the silver looks best (and most like an actual sand dollar), but like the gold also. Is it possible to sand-blast only one side? I think the key is the matt finish you were envisioning. Even so, I would happily trade for any one of these Quote
+Eagles61 Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Like all of them, especially the gold. Quote
+CachingCoins Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 I really like the silver & gold! Quote
+Trizumi Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 I prefer the silver and gold coins. When will they go on sale and how much will they be? Quote
+LadeBear68 Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 I don't like the black or the silver. The gold is very pretty. Too bad they couldn't add specks to look like a real sand dollar. Quote
+Marky Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 Very nice. I like them all. Can't wait for ours to arrive. Quote
+Nero Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 (edited) Very nice, I like them all, the black is my favorite. The only thing I would change is ask that the tracking number and the trackable at gc.com at the bottom be white filled like the rest of the text. Edited November 17, 2006 by Nero Quote

Matte black or shiny black, it looks the best! Quote
Team Macha Posted November 17, 2006 Posted November 17, 2006 My thoughts exactly Nero. I have come across many coins where the tracking number or any of the text is hard to read simply because the maker didn't make the text contrast the background color. Changing it to white would be good. BTW I like the coins in this order: SGB PS maybe adding a small amount or texturing kinda like a sand-like feel would make it seem a little more "real" (I don't know ) Quote
+Team Sand Dollar Posted November 17, 2006 Author Posted November 17, 2006 They can't sand blast finish the coin because it has no edge. This is what I've was told. They can only color in the number in black which the coin is. This is what I've been told. I really want the black one so I am kind of stuck. The mint actually calls it a dyed black finish so it should not be a shiny. Also I've asked for the lettering on the Gold and Silver to be in black and also color in the trackable at part. +SeabeckTribe Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 One of my favorite coins in my collection. It's to bad that you can't do them in a satin finish, giving them less of a shine. Quote
+geocachingdragon Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Great job on the coins I like em Quote
+Traderdell Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 When will these be available to purchase, or have I already missed out? Quote

I need to take care of all trades first as I have already recieved their coins so in essence these have already paid. That being said anyone wanting me to invoice them early, I can do that now as I have a confirmed delivery date. Team Sand Dollar Quote

Team Sand Dollar That reminds me I need to put your casino coin in the post to you! i will get it sendt off on tuesday. i have managed to delete your first email. did you have a preference over the metal (gold, silver or copper)? thanks Quote
+whitebear Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I like the coins just the way they are ...even the black. We have lots of Sand Dollars on the beaches up island here mostly in Parksville & Qualicum so I am quite familiar with them .The only way I see to get the coin more textured would be to change the die & have a bunch more little bumps on them ,but that would require a new die change Quote
+altosaxplayer Posted December 11, 2006 Posted December 11, 2006 Looks like a great coin. Hope to maybe get one. Quote
