+mgbmusic Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Is there any software or preferably web interface (google maps, etc) that can, on a click of the map display the GPS coordinates of the indicated position? Quote

+Stunod Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 (edited) Is there any software or preferably web interface (google maps, etc) that can, on a click of the map display the GPS coordinates of the indicated position? Google Earth will do it (well, not exactly click the map for the coords, but it will display the coords of where your cursor is) Edited November 13, 2006 by Stunod Quote
+Lighteye Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Quakemap rocks! http://www.earthquakemap.com/about.html You can download and store area maps for reteival from a laptop in the field. Quote
+Markwell Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 (edited) GeocachingAdmin's Terraserver Viewer. You have to know the area's general coordinates, but once you find the spot it's really neat. Streets and Trips will do a "location sensor" and I've also found that to be pretty accurate. maps.google.com will do it to if you zoom in really tight and "link to this page" - the cooridnates will be in the URL. +2Dee2Dee Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 GoogleEarth will give you the coords in a couple of different ways. If you just want the click then, If you right click a cache icon and choose directions from here then in the Directions From Here field will be displayed the coords in decimal format along with the name and diff/terr. Is there any software or preferably web interface (google maps, etc) that can, on a click of the map display the GPS coordinates of the indicated position? Quote
