Camping in Snowdonia

Recommended Posts

After much discussion in chat over several weeks, I'm going to be hosting a camping event in lovely Snowdonia... (interest permitting)... June seems the best time by all accounts.

So, who's up for it?

Camping at either

or

I welcome everyones suggestions to make it a cracker!

Fri 30th June

Sat 1st July

Sun 2nd July

ie 2 nights

Snowdon Easy or Hard sounds a GREAT idea!

Snowdonia Camp Site

Tent for 1 or 2 = £10 per night

Tent 3+ = £16 per night

Hook Up = £2 per night

"Pitch allocation for 07 will be allocated in December but there should be no problem whatsoever, ring back in a couple of weeks and we'll get things moving. 20 tents approx is fine"

I like train rides :)

choo chooooooooooooo

Me too Vanya...

Particulary THAT ride... I did it for my 30th Birthday a few years ago - it was fab!

Bagsy a seat next to Vanya on the train... let the more energetic types walk up!

(Does anyone know if you can get the train up, and walk back down??? I seem to remember for some reason that they don't like you doing that?)

I think you can do it that way (how can they stop you anyway?) but I don;t think you can walk up and get the train back - at least, you can't buy a ticket up there...

its been a while though since i';ve been though!

anyone for an ascent via the crib goch horseshoe?

I'm hoping to come along at the tail-end of Pyoung1s' 3-Peaks Adventure. With my St Kilda trip the weekend before, it's looking like a busy week for me :)

I'm up in the Snowdon area at the end of February and have the maintenance support of a local caching team, so I might be putting a couple of caches out in locations I've already spotted then.
