Celticwulf Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Could you clearify a point for us.... Does every mention of the reviewers name cast them a ballot OR does each cacher mentioned get ONE ballot. Yeah, I'm kinda curious on this one too. Does it help if everyone "votes" for their favorite, or is it like I read in the first post just going to be a name out of hat based on if their name was mentioned? Just in case the votes count, I'm so putting in Surfer Joe again. Celticwulf Quote
El Diablo Posted November 8, 2006 Author Posted November 8, 2006 Could you clearify a point for us.... Does every mention of the reviewers name cast them a ballot OR does each cacher mentioned get ONE ballot. Each Reviewer mention gets one ballot. Not a ballot for each time they are mentioned. This is the fairst way I know to conduct the contest. El Diablo Quote
photobug2 Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 No doubt about it RUSTY!!!! Michigan is blessed to have him doing the reviewing. Quote
Team CoyChev Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Michigan is just making sure Rusty gets in the running! Quote
SleepyWeasel73 Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Rusty is the best! I don't know how he could take better care of cachers!!! Quote

That's the way I thought you were doing it too, but was getting confused by all of the extra votes from people. Great looking staves, here's hoping my local reviewer wins so I can check it out more in detail at an event sometime! Celticwulf Edited November 8, 2006 by Celticwulf Quote
Vinny & Sue Team Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Sorry for the delay in replying, but I was in Pittsburgh for the past 3 days ona consulting job and just returned home recently. +Ladybug Kids Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 (edited) We 2nd Erik88l-r (he covers more real estate than the rest of the reviewers combined). Add my vote to Erik88l-r. Us, too! Erik88l-r and Crow T Robot both do a great job of covering Alaska. Plus, the four-hour time difference means we can wake up to newly approved caches or have them go live in time to get us out of the office on time in the afternoon. He approved my first cache in a matter of hours!! Cache on! Hours??? Heck, minutes!!! Edited November 8, 2006 by Ladybug Kids Quote
yogi and dolphin Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 I vote for the most awesome reviewer ever--MaxCacher. Quote

norsehawk Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Palmetto does a great job in the Central FL area. Palmetto is seconded here by this lil Norsehawk Quote
Strol Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I give my vote to "NYCacher" even if he has kicked back a couple of my latest caches... I see his point and has given a fare judgment on them... What's good for one is good for all... Gets my vote! Quote
Better Half Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Max Cacher! He's been an inspiration and a big help. Quote

Kerstin76 Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Let me add the name of the german speaking reviewers who do a great job to adjust the guidelines to german needs. They even set up a german website to make the cache placement easier for non-english speaking cachers (Die Reviewer). 2, °, ApproV, Laogai, swissgeocache, Great Job! Thank you! Quote
HugoBear Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 SURFER JOE best reviewer there is. Ditto that, best in the business! Quote
JoBoSoMo's Mom Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 ROADRUNNER from Nevada. He's definately the best in my book. Always there and willing to help in anyway that he can. Reviewed and published 207 for me for my summer game and kept us all organized. Quote
El Diablo Posted November 10, 2006 Author Posted November 10, 2006 I wasn't going to do this until ion the morning, but my wife reminded me that I have a doctors appointment in the morning that may take awhile. Also it looks like all the nominees are in. I wish I could give a staff to every Reviewer out there. Everyone of you deserve to win. You have all seen the public posts here, but you haven't seen the emails that I've received trying to sway me into giving the staff to their well deserving Reviewer. Those emails numbered into the dozens. I hope this thread has relayed from all of us our appreciation for what you do, and how well you are all thought of. I let my wife do the drawing so there would be no bias on my part. The winner is!!! Congratulations to erik88l-r! He is a Reviewer from GA, and is one of the very first people to take on this responsibility. I've had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of years ago. As you can tell from the posts made here he is very well thought of and covers a lot of territory. When my wife handed me the slip of paper with his name on it I knew the staff went to a very deserving person. Thanks everyone for making this one of the nicest threads in recent history. Mushtang Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Hooray! I knew Erik would win. I was pulling for him the whole time. Quote
erik88l-r Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 This is really very cool. I was very surprised and pleased to win, but more pleased to see all the positive comments expressed for all the reviewers. I've met many of the reviewers and they're all great folks who deserve and appreciate the recognition. On behalf of all the reviewers I thank El Diablo for doing this, and thank all who posted for doing so. I've enjoyed reading all the enthusiastic postings, and only wish all reviewers could share the hiking staff. (but I'll keep it, thank you very much) THANKS! ~erik~ Quote
El Diablo Posted November 10, 2006 Author Posted November 10, 2006 Wow, ED...quick work on that staff! Congrats, erik88l-r! Well it's not quite done. Just a couple of hours of work so I could get the pic up. El Diablo Quote
Captain No Beard and the Pi Rats Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Congrat's to Erik and to all the nominees--you're all winn'rrrs! [insert blarck eye hemoticon 'ere] tW Quote
theUMP Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Onya, erik! You've gotta admire someone who has to apply local knowledge to half the planet! Quote
BroncoCacher Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I reached a licensing agreement with Groundspeak this week to use Signal on a hiking staff. So I made 2 of them and thought I would give one away to a local Reviewer in appreciation for all they do. So if you want to show how much you support them all you have to do is mention their name here, and at the end of the week (Friday) I'll do a random drawing and send them this with his or her name on it. El Diablo i WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT rOADrUNNER IN nEVADA IS A TIRELESS SUPPORTER AND NOT ONLY DOES HE REVIEW THEM BUT ATTENDS THE EVENTS, CACHE OUTINGS, CITO EVENTS AND SUPPORTS CACHERS WITH THEIR GOALS AND IS AN ALL AROUND CAACHING MENTOR. i VOTE THAT HE GETS THE NEW HIKING STAFF!!! +Peppermill 6-Pack Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I would like to cast our vote for NYCacher. One reason (and this is just one, there are more) being that our caches are receiving immediate attention. Last night I submitted a new cache at 7:17PM, it was listed at 7:36PM, just 19 minutes later. Way to go NYCacher! Thanks for your work to help feed our obsession. Quote
Huntcliff Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Lived in multiple areas and all are great! I vote for NCReviewer, Mtn-man and super substitue reviewer Honeychile Quote

wimseyguy Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Psssst-he's already made the drawing and the winning reviewer's staff. Look at the pics up there^^^. I cannot think of a more deserving reviewer. He reviewed my first cache four years ago, was one of the first volunteers on this site, and is still around doing it after all that. Quote
fox-and-the-hound Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Nice work El Diablo! Your generosity is always a great reward and this was a worthy cause. Great work on the staff. Can't wait to see your next one Quote
Cascade Reviewer Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I just want to thank everyone for your overwhelming support for all the Reviewers. Geocaching is a wonderful sport for so many reasons, and one of the biggest reasons is all the people we have the opportunity to meet and get to know. Congratulations, Erik. Quote
B@shful Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 My vote goes to Max Cacher. Tennessee caching is a blast and Max works hard for all of us. Quote
