ossumguywill
If you could have one feature added to your current receiver, what would it be? (1 cm accuracy, lightsaber, baromiter, teleport, etc.) Edited November 5, 2006 by ossumguywill Quote Link to comment
+Airmapper
Mind interface. Sort of like bluetooth, only no earpiece. Just think, your brain just knows the area to go, how accurate to expect, how long it will take to reach, how fast your going, what road your on and where it goes, all in your minds eye. +Train_Man
I think i'd want to have a 3d hologram so i could actually see where i am on a deatiled model of the town or mountain with all the building and everything. That could be very useful. I would NOT want to have unlimited accuracy... just think, geocaching would be BORING! It will be a sad day when geocaching becomes that easy Quote Link to comment

You know your Lowrance already has this. Just press Menu, Menu, delete all waypoints, hit the find key two times quickly to find the easter-egg menu, then hit exit, re-calibrate the compass, menu, menu, turn backlight on, then turn backlight off, turn the receiver around, open the antenna cover, and press the mind interface button. You aren't fooling anyone. Quote Link to comment

senecaripple
update maps, poi, on your own gps and share it with others to download. Quote Link to comment
+hikergps
A sonar ping. I just think it would sound cool, like on Hunt for the Red October. And a lightsaber. Quote Link to comment
TeamCypherX
I think it would be cool if the maps would download automatically off the satellites like I used to think they did ;-) Quote Link to comment
+TheRoundings
I want mine ot show real-time live satellite images so I can see myself walking to the cache and I know where the muggles are etc. Quote Link to comment
Michael Cook
An unbreakable flexible screen that would fold out to a reasonable size (maybe 30cm x 20cm) so I can see more of the map. And of course much more detailed maps to go with it. Quote Link to comment
+Paulsan
I'd want it to have the ability to turn into Jessica Simpson. Of course it would have a "silence voice" option. Quote Link to comment
Dale_Lynn
One that knows 24 hours before I want to go caching and will access geocache.com and access all the cache information I want (it will know in advance the ones I am interested in) and update what ever information that may already in memory... All I have to do is follow the direction given by GPS... No more preloading information by me.... Dale Edited November 5, 2006 by Dale_Lynn Quote Link to comment
+bulletproofcj7
A system that would upload all of the info from GC.com for all caches, into the satelite and download the caches directly to my GPSr that are within my map display in real time! Quote Link to comment
+gpsblake
I would like to see you be able to have more than 10,000 points in a track log. Up to the limit of the available memory. Since I like to take long bicycle trips at times, this would be a big benefit. I would like to see a real geocaching mode on a GPSr with every field that shows up on .GPX format. And I would like to see more waypoints storage, again up to the limit of the memory card on the GPS. Quote Link to comment
+oldnavy59
maps that updated daily with construction zones shown Quote Link to comment
+feral five
Whats the point in accuracy. I'm getting sick of looking for caches placed by people with GPS units that seem to have an accuracy of +/- 150ft. !!! Quote Link to comment
+macatac1961
My dream GPS would have a button on the side that once pressed would project a 3D, holographic real-time aerial image hovering above the GPS. Panable and zoomable with all GPS waypoints visible. Quote Link to comment
senecaripple
a remote homing device that allows the pocket gps to track. call it "the stalker"! Quote Link to comment
+CheshireFrog
Seriously, I'd love to see an open standard for maps that all manufacturers would sign on to. A simple range of choices in what maps to buy would drive competition and result in better products and put an end to buying a whole new package every couple of years just to get updated maps. +JSWilson64
How 'bout a GPSr that'll let me use maps from whatever vendor I choose, in whatever format I choose (vector, raster, map or sat /aerial photo). A GPSr with a "if it's geoencoded, it's usable" attitude. I despise proprietary-ness in any device, from I/O protocol, to connectors, to batteries, you name it. +tollerdudes
A light saber. No really, I'd like to be able to download all the cache info onto it. Quote Link to comment

A GPSr with a "if it's geoencoded, it's usable" attitude. I despise proprietary-ness in any device, from I/O protocol, to connectors, to batteries, you name it. I totally agree with you there. It bugs me that I can't even so much as add lines or polygons. I'd like to be able to drop in a KML or something like that. Furthermore, I'd love for my 60CSx to have a bluetooth tranceiver in it. I'm currently looking at possible ways of hooking up a bluetooth modue to the serial port (if this sounds like something you're interested in, watch my profile page - if I get anything going, I'll put some info there. and if it hasn't happened by mid Jan, it never will) so I can use the hardware I've already got and not have to buy a second, dedicated bluetooth GPS unit like the new 10. ossumguywill
I forgot to say, I'd want one that had full desktop capabilities including satellite communication. Quote Link to comment
