250 Tracking Codes vs Number of Coins Made

I'm finally on the path to a personal geocoin. Ideally, I'd like it trackable with an icon. What I'm trying to figure out is if it's allowed to purchase the 250 minimum required tracking codes, and then 125 coins now and 125 coins later? Has Groundspeak said 'no' to that? Or is it done, maybe at the discretion of the manufacturer? If so, which makers do it?

That should not be a problem, understanding that both designs would need to be approved by Groundspeak, but you could get one approved now and the other later. You would have to purchase the 250 codes and Icon first time out.

I believe that this is currently being done for the "DELFT BLUE" ceramic coin

 

There will be four versions, but only 125 of each version

Well, you're not first in line, but you're certainly near the front! You'll have to watch closely for them 'cause they won't be 'out there' and they won't be for sale. A caching friend gave me what I think is sage advice . . . "Keep 'em close."
