It was extreme in more way's than 1.

HOLOSCENES EXTREME BENCHMARK HUNTING

GG0667 SW MO

I went to give a speech in the area only to find out I was a day late.

I was prepared and had the Power Point with me.

I was really thinking this was going to go so well.

Then it hit the emotional part...my reputation is at stake.

I am a day late....OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I sent the appropriate humble apology letter once I arrived back home.

I rescheduled the event.

I was going to do this benchmark anyway after the talk,it has been on the list for 3 years...another extreme.

So I head out with the feelings of the last visit and the land owners son pretty much telling me to leave and you could not go to the benchmark area yet another extreme.

Well I am prepared to make the visit and deal with any situation now....it all went like a piece of cake and I recovered the mark."What an extreme"

Found the station easily and headed for reference mark 1 only to find a large hole.

So I head to reference mark 2 and it appears to be in a big wad of brush,I move things around and there it was.

Now to the Azimuth....well I looked and looked and looked...no bridge as mentioned just the remains of what appeared to be a footing for one.The Stone Monument is still there and I find a T-post near the area....no sign and a big hole.

But you know through it all even when you are not feeling you are doing things correctly like missing a meeting, missing a mark(s) or what ever may be trying to drag you down the great BENCHMARKING SPIRIT keeps you going in knowing you are providing a much more valuable service by making these recoveries for others to be guided by.

Their is always more good than anything else.

I recovered 2 of the marks,It was an extreme benchmark, the highway designation is now correct.

Your health is better because of the hike up the hills to the marks.

So why sweat the small stuff, maybe the sweat is the small stuff.

I guess I am feeling in the writer's mode today because I know some of you like to read recovery reports.

I did recover 5 Triangulation stations,3 reports to NGS and 2 geocaches on this day as well.

And had a great time regardless.......

Here is one for that topic on Stampings.

This one just looks neat on the E nd A.

This one is also right on the State Line.

Well that is a little long winded so I will leave you with this.

KEEP ON BENCHMARK HUNTING.

Changed link to Arkansas...Arkansas Northernmost mark.
