The wife and I are thinking about doing a multi with a foreign coin exchange. Any thoughts on this?

I've done foreign coin exchange caches and I've done multis. I like them both. Combining the two would be too cool for words.

I will be franc -- there are many who do just do not have a yen for pounding through the stages of a multicache. They think that multi-lovers are loonies. They would rather find a single-stage cache and then get home in time for dinar.

 

But if you like multis like I do, I suggest that you go to baht with your idea. Don't let the moaners and kroners get you down.

If it is a good hide in a nice location it will be a good cache. One of my very first finds was an international currency cache. I finally had somewhere to trade my 100 Nicaraguan Peso note. It wouldn't have been a very fair trade at any other cache.

For multi caches, it's more likely that you'll be more traffic if you put the number of stages in the description, and also a general idea of how long (distance and time) from start to finish.

 

It's not required at all, but it will keep some folks from passing it over.

Two suggestions - give each stage a currency theme, like those in Lep's post above.

 

And, provide a link to where folks can buy foreign currencies - maybe a local bank that has an exchange desk, so that folks who don't have foreign currency on hand can easily get some to keep with the cache's exchange theme.
