Loch Sloy!
Hello, I'm very new to this and very excited to get started. It seems like geocaching is something my wife and I will much enjoy. Here's a question I have for you experts. How do I enter a waypoint from scratch into my gps? i.e. one cache I'm wanting to look for is N 38° 26.349 W 105° 13.949. When I enter this do I input 38.26; or 26.329; or 38.26349? I'm looking for answers on these sites but haven't found them yet. Thanks much and happy hunting. Quote Link to comment

And which GPS do you have? Quote Link to comment
+HeffeD
You need to go the the setup page for your GPS and make sure the 'units' are set for: Position Format hddd° mm.mmm' Map Datum WGS 84 Then you should enter the coordinates just as they appear on the cache page. Which in this case would be N 38° 26.349 W 105° 13.949 Quote Link to comment

+New England n00b
You can download the manual and quick reference guide from teh Garmin website (click this link to go there) Quote Link to comment
+Okiebryan
I have a Legend. What I used to do (now I download PQs and load waypoints from my laptop) was to mark a waypoint, then change the waypoint name and coordinates. Then click ok. This will work. Quote Link to comment

I went to the menu of my Megallan and changed the way the info was inputted. Made all the difference in the world. Thanks soooo much. Happy hunting. Quote Link to comment
