time of day or (night) that the site is down

I work swing shift and when I get home at midnight, I try to log in and post any finds I may have gotten. It seems that the site runs well during the day, but most often at night from midnight on, I am unable to get the site to open. Is this a time where they are doing maintenance on the site?

I've run into this as well when logging late at night. Things are working great for a while, then the clock strikes midnight (PDT) and BAMMM! slow responses and timeout errors. I think it's when all the stats sites are hitting gc.com to get their data. Might also be maintenance time, but I doubt it. I suspect this problem will stick around until one of TPTB decides to stay up late to witness it.

It's obviously a conspiracy that goes to the highest levels of the company. I fear I have said too much, so if I don't check in on the forums tomorrow, avenge me!

I've heard at some point that the site does recompiling at around 11 PM Pacific Time. I am not sure about that, but I have experienced the same thing. If I am doing cache review late at night I stop at that time because things tend to slow down. That is an hour off from what you are saying though. Like I say, I am not sure if that is true or not.
