+Fish Eagle Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Hi Everyone, Greetings from the Lowveld. Just wanted to let you know that our Fish Eagle personal geocoin is now a reality. It's on presale at Geocoins Netherlands, and should be available about 31st October. It is trackable, has a unique icon, and is being minted in 3 different metals - gold, silver, and bronze. We have learnt a lot going through the process, and had total support from Geocoins.nl - they were terrific. Shortly, once it has all evolved fully, we'll share what we've learnt. Quote
+QFC Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Congrats on a pretty coin. A great addition to Caching in and around SA! Quote
+vespax Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Maybe I will have the pleasure of finding this soon! Quote
+warthog Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Congrats, please keep us up to date on the how and what of doing your own coin. Just something, how come the bronze coin is more expensive than the silver, which in turn is more expensive than the gold coin? I would have thought it should be the other way round. Quote

Hi Warthog, Real weird, but it's fact - you pay more for the other metals than for gold. Obviously all that glitters is not .... etc, etc. You'll notice that the production quantity of gold coins is more than the others - the balance of the gold coins are for ourselves. Anyway, all part of the learning curve. Amazing how quickly they are selling - more than half gone already!!! Edited October 27, 2006 by Fish Eagle Quote
+warthog Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 I see the 3 coin set has been "removed" or disappeared. Do you know why? Quote
+Fish Eagle Posted October 27, 2006 Author Posted October 27, 2006 I see the 3 coin set has been "removed" or disappeared. Do you know why? The 3-coin set is sold out - then it disappears from the website. We might be able to rearrange the distribution to provide a few more sets, which have proved very popular. Quote
+ZAteam Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 Just ordered your coins, nice design. I was just in time to order a few sets, they are really flying !! Exciting times for you then, I know because our coin went on sale last week Friday and it is certainly exciting... Will the caching comunity like the coins, will they sell well, etc. One thing is certain, this coin is a winner! Quote
