BlueMer
What is the best unit for an old women who needs a big screen, the unit to talk and give street directions in the car and the ability to take the unit out of the car and find geocaches? The old garmin unit is nice, but too small and difficult to see in the car. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
You might be better off buying something like a Streetpilot or TomTom for the car and getting a cheap handheld for geocaching. Any unit that has large enough screen will be too heavy to use as a handheld. The closest thing to doing what you want is the Garmin Quest or Quest II, but I think you may have issues with the screen size. Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
There is a Garmin GPS 296. Pricy but at least one geocacher uses it and likes it. The hard part will be checking out the screen size to make sure it's going to work. Garmin also makes PDA GPS units that might be worth a look. Larger screen but not as durable as a hand held (and dinky screened) GPS. Other than that the Quest/Quest II is worth a look and may be easier to find to see the screen. Quote Link to comment
+sbell111
I love my Quest. My wife found it to be easy to use and perfect for navigating in an unfamiliar city. Several people use Quests and Q2s as their primary geocaching GPSr. Quote Link to comment

+apersson850
The Quest has quite a small screen, though. Quote Link to comment
appletree
The Quest has quite a small screen, though. Compared to many vehicle use only units, the screen is small, but for a hand-held, it is not, especially considering the total size of the GPSR. The resolution, color, and brightness with the backlight on make it very readable, even for someome with older eyes, like mine. Quote Link to comment
+HaLiJuSaPa
I vote for the IWay 100M. Decent screen size, very cheap price for these kind of features, and not too hard to use. Quote Link to comment
