I wish we could go :anicute: Oh well, at least I got to have a little tiny part of it. I work at a screenprinter and today, they printed shirts for Geocoin Fest 2007! They look good :( So when you all see the shirts, just think of me and know that I touched them!! (or maybe not, that might be kinda creepy!)

Anyhoo, HAVE FUN!!!!! I can't wait to hear the stories!!

I thought they looked great! Just like the artwork :( Who did you guys work with at Sunrise? I'd guess Tim?

I always get a thrill when we do the Geocaching shirts. Of course, I'd rather be Geocaching than at work :(

You guessed right!

Will handled the majority of the ordering, but the little bit I worked with Tim I could tell he was a great guy.

So here is an interesting idea. I have a MtnBike V3 in my collection that I would be interested in swapping with someone. Mine has traveled to some events with me but I have been selective as to who logs it. I have no real attachment to this particular coin # and wonder if there are others. While it is not exactly traveling changing hands is a form of circulation. I know the first MtnBike coin I saw was one that was on loan and did get around.

I am really excited about the event and looking forward to meeting everyone

Well...

Two weeks from tonight, a huge portion of you will be here in town! Woo Hoo!

I know AG is planning a cache run out to the casino, and that group will plan on doing a little gambling, and then caching on their way back.

I am going to pick a restaurant in town or maybe a pizza place that has room. I'll have an informal meet and greet there for anyone that wants to stop by. I'll try to find a place with a wifi, so we can have access there. Maybe we could organize some runs from there. It will be a good place to hook up and form a group.

Just some idle thoughts....

I may take you up on that! Since we don't get to own them anyway, by trading them to each other, they can aquire some mileage to them.

I'll also have a V.1 Moun10Bike coin in my pocket! If you find me, you can log it!

Fortunately, my parents live roughly halfway between Virginia and California, so I won't have to drive the whole stretch at once. I've never been further west than the DFW area, so I'll be caching/sightseeing once I get past there. I'll be gaining two hours, so it's possible I might make it in early enough to hang out.

I leave one week from today and I don't think I could be more excited .

Who is practicing their poker skills?

Since summerandnana so kindly lead me into this reply, I figure I'll drop in a note here. I know most if not all the attendees are watching this topic. I invite you all to reread the poker rules section at http://www.geocoinfest.com/website/gamerules.html. Please take special note of the coin buyin guidelines and game play (standard WSOP rules apply, unless noted). For those who play poker frequently, this game will be much faster than normal. It's just the nature of the time slot we have available. I'd like to just walk around and enjoy the action, not police any tables. . . . :o

I anticipate quite a fun and challenging game, so do practice up  I know I'm excited, I hope you all are too!!

Who is practicing their poker skills?

Me, I'm strictly a novice. Are you kidding? Everytime I sit at my computer my little Texas Hold'em widget is running. I downloaded Texas Hold'em to my cellphone and now play that when commuting. My family is sick of watching the World Poker Tour and World Series of Poker reruns on TV. But seriously, just wondering, any pro's playing?

I will arrive Wednesday around 12pm and I am planning to be arrested by 5pm that evening for getting too close to the pandas at the San Diego Zoo.

LOL! Take plenty of photos!!

I arrive at another airport on Thursday at noonish. So Ms Pepper and I plan to cache our way South from Ontario shortly after picking up the rental car.

Nope, I'm running the tourney. But, I'm sure that someone lurking out there has played once or twice before . . . .

Poker--is that the one with the dice or the cards???

As a matter of fact, there are casino and card parlors in the area, and some folks play, on special occasions. (Like the first Thursday of the week. :o )

My only question about the rules is the end game--if everyone is all-in and the chip leader wins the pot, how will you determine second and third place? (e.g. all but one player go out on the same hand...)

We have been practicing poker...but since we have never played with real people before I am not sure how good we will do!

I hope the tables are nice and friendly so when I forget how much the call is or to post my blind they gently remind me.

I am so excited! We may not do any of the activities on Friday night as we will just be getting there on Friday and we will have to spend a little time with the family. (I so did want to go and gamble with the group)

We've had some e-mails recently asking if we'd be there with our laptops ready to talk design... Unfortunately, we booked a holiday last August which we mentioned a few months ago when this date was announced. As we watch this unfold it's with mixed feelings that we won't be there. You will have our logo on your t-shirts though and at least one new Landsharkz designed coin is making the journey in a client's luggage  .

Aw man, I was so looking forward to meeting you & Chris in person. I hope you have a wonderful vacation though

This one is easy. Finish ranking if more than one player goes out on any particular hand is determined by intital starting chips when the hand is dealt. More chips is the higher finisher. Players eliminated on the same deal who start with equal chips receive equal prize distribution. With only three places paying out, at 50%, 30%, 20%, the only tie option is between 2nd and 3rd, in which case each participant would receive 25%.

Players: Please don't feel like you have to memorize all the WSOP rules. I will have a copy with me, as well as intimiate knowledge of most of them anyway. I have no vested prize interest here, so it will all be by the book.

Whew.... :o that's a relief!!! I'm worried enough about playing never mind having to "memorize" anything!!

We're so excited about this event, it's really going to be a lot of Fun!! I've changed my mind at least a dozen times on which coins to use for my 3 coin buy-in. I LOVE to gamble but normally I stick to the Black-Jack tables and have only played poker at home. Maybe beginners luck will kick in eh?

We'll be arriving on Friday early afternoon...driving in from Phoenix with DHobby1 and Ro - do a bit of caching on the way!

Can't wait to meet everyone, see ya soon!!!

Ok, I know that some people will be bringing their kids with them. I'm curious to know if you will be bringing them to the event or sending them off somewhere else like to visit the Mouse, or if they will be attending with you. If they are attending with you, what kind of things are you going to bring to keep them entertained?

I'm bringing my 5 and 7 year old boys. I'm thinking of bringing coloring books and crayons for them, maybe some cards...any suggestions?

Woo hoo. This time next week we will be wrapping up our day at Legoland. :-D

We are bringing our kids to the daytime event but not to the poker tourney that night. We have 3 girls 9, 6 & 3, they will have their mp3 players and we will have the DVD player....but I hope we do not need those things. Usually at events they like to wander around and talk to people and eat. If you have your boys there maybe they all can entertain each other.

We have never had one of them come to us at an event and say they were bored.....and I hope that other people at events have not been bothered by them.... :)

LOL! Mine have never actually been bored at an event or non-event, but they usually know everyone there. Sounds like a great age range. I hope they all have fun together. :-)

First and foremost the most important thing LadeBear68 if you plan on getten' close enough to the cute pandas to get arrested...make dern sure you have some of those numbers on your cell phone memorized...very important! :)

Hmmm…AG I don’t normally correct folks on spelling errors, but I’m pretty sure Thursday starts with a "T" and not a "W"…so yeah I’ll see ya at the airport on the 15th.

The rec center is located in a large sports park. There is a playground area nearby...but not within sight of the meeting room. Weather permitting, there is plenty of room to run around.

Also, if you are staying for the event on Sunday, we have a monster sized inflatable jumper on order for the day. :)

Aw shucks, that's awfully nice of you Karma :), we would have loved to have met you too and everyone else we've been in contact with through coins and event donations ;) .

We're sending some coins for the raffle with our friend Whitebear, including our very last GOLD Canada Micro. On Saturday while y'all are enjoying the event we'll be boarding a cruise ship in Ft. Lauderdale and then 2 days later we're witnessing our friends' wedding. We're taking our laptop in case any great designs strike us while we're in this new environment ;) , but really this is our first holiday in a year!

We'll be back at our desks on March 4th rested and ready to get back at it!

The weather this last week has been very cold with lows near -25 and several storm fronts dropping 3 to 5 inches of snow.
