Geovative Solutions Announces GeoTours - a GPS Tour Guide

Recommended Posts

We are a new company called Geovative Solutions, focusing on GPS and location-relevant services. We provide an innovative GPS tour guide application called GeoTours.

What is GeoTours?

GeoTours allows users to create and share tours through our web site. These tours can also be downloaded and viewed on compatible GPS devices. No GPS device? That's okay! Tours can also be downloaded to any MP3 player (including iPods) or viewed online. The best thing about this product is that it's entirely FREE!!

GeoTours currently supports the following GPS devices:

  • Garmin iQue 3000
  • Garmin iQue 3200
  • Garmin iQue 3600/3600a
  • Garmin nüvi
  • Garmin zumo
  • Garmin StreetPilot 2730
  • Garmin StreetPilot 2820
  • Garmin StreetPilot 7200
  • Garmin StreetPilot 7500

Support for additional devices is currently being developed.

How Does GeoTours Work?

GeoTours guides you along a predetermined tour route and plays custom mp3 files at each tour location. The GeoTours web application allows users to create custom tours by selecting locations on a map and uploading audio files for each location. The tours can then be shared on the GeoTours Xchange, which is a network allowing users to share and download other users' tours. To download a tour, simply download the tour files and load them into your device.

To view more information on GeoTours and to begin using it, visit our web site located at http://www.geovative.com . Remember, all of our software and services are FREE.

Please send us your comments at geovative@geovative.com. Any feedback is appreciated! Happy touring!

Do you support GPX format for these tours?

Dan, thanks for the question. Yes, we do support GPX format.

Users have two options when downloading any tour:

- You can download a Palm Database (.pdb) file with the tour locations.

- You can download a GPX file compatible with the Garmin TourGuide specification with the tour locations and audio file links included.

Any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.
