+Tiger-Eyes
They used to affect Floppy disks and PC Hard drives so I would assume that SD cards would be affected too though I am not an expert and I may not be right Quote Link to comment

+Lost in Space
Are SD cards affected by magnets? Thanks! Unless you had some incredibly strong magnet, my answer would be no. What is your problem, and what is the make of card? (I ask that because I recently bought a couple of 1 Gb SD cards from 7-Day Shop and neither would "work" properly") Quote Link to comment
terrible2u
AFAIK it should not affect it. drives, just like floppy discs, store data magnetic, like the audio- or video-cassettes (good ol'days gone..)! SD-cards have a flash memory. those are not the magnetic type of storage.. but if you have 100+kg magnet, i still would not garantee it would not affect it. altough it shouldnt, since there is no iron (FE) in it! +PopUpPirate
Ah good - I know that floppies are susceptible, but they are stored magnetically. I was hoping that magnets wouldn't affect the millions of little "switches" that are inside a memory card. Quote Link to comment
