WeRideHD
Hey, I am taking my elderly mother on a trip to see the Bridges of Madison County. She has a bad foot and hiking too much is out of the question. Can anyone tell if there is any caches near any of the bridges? We are limited on time also so caches on near things we are going to see would be great. Thanks in advance, WeRideHD Quote Link to comment
huskerrich2000
Center, your google map on Winterset, Ia and take a look at all the 1/1 caches in the county, print the map and cache page out. Quote Link to comment
Tall Rice
I'm not sure where you're originally from but when my BW and I went to the Bridges we were suprised at the amount of driving involved in getting to them. This was, of course, before arsonists destroyed two of them. Quote Link to comment
K0BKL
I think that Madison County ought to round up all the covered bridges and place them in one gated park! Quote Link to comment
StarBrand
Was out near Winterset on my honeymoon 11 years ago - I can think of some great possible cache locations out that way. My wife and I were disappointed that many of the bridges are "re-built" and consist of about 90% + new lumber - makes the "built in" 18xx signs seem silly to us. Quote Link to comment
K0BKL
One more reason to just locate them at one gated park. Call it the "Bridges Park" or something Edited December 6, 2006 by K0BKL Quote Link to comment
