I sure would like to know if anyone has or is planning any get togethers or event caches in our area.

I have friends in other states that have them all the time.

we live in the corpus christi area, and are members of the TXGA and they don't do much that i can find.

I've wanted to go both times, but life got in the way. I've heard there are some really great caches down there too. Just not too many events. You could try and start one your self. Could be as simple as just a few folks meeting at a local diner.

Post your question in the TXGA Forums. Among other things, there are discussion areas for specific regions. Poke your head into whichever ones may interest you. Also feel free to jump into the more general discussion topics.

We used to live in Corpus and there was a large and active community with events held on a regular basis. There have been a few things happen that have soured most cachers on events so I wouldn’t go to the beach bash event even if you paid me. I won't go into details but that is the reason it's so stagnant down there.

 

However, you should try to get things going again. I know several cachers down there who are great people and might be willing to try to get things going again.
