+Gaidin Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Just curious if there is a standard freq. for cachers that are out and about. Thanks Gaidin Vancouver Island Quote
+BlueDeuce Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 Channel 2 is commonly used. Yep 2 or 12 2/12 Quote
+worldtraveler Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 From the Geocaching FAQ page: Do you have an FRS/PMR channel to find out if other Geocachers are in the area? Yes. The community has decided on channel 2 as the primary for both FRS and PMR, and 12 as the alternate FRS (Family Radio Service) channel and 8 for the alternate PMR (Europe). FRS and PMR radios are longer distance walkie talkies, like the Motorola Talkabout. Quote

+Criminal Posted September 18, 2006 Posted September 18, 2006 Well, since nobody actually answered your question, the frequency is 462.5875 (Ch2) or 467.6625 (Ch12). Quote
