Event Decor items and Doorprizes...

What sort of items are made and/or given away at your local events? What kind of geocaching decor do you use to make the room/area look like a geocache hunt?

 

Here in Anchorage, our Geocache Alaska events have always displayed a few door prizes in the form of geocoins, ammocans, decon containers, CITO T-Shirts and so forth. However, our folks on the Kenai peninsula who're hosting the Peninsula Meet'N'Greet Event have added a new twist to the decor & door prize category - a decon container bouquet! Door prizes - usually some ready-to-place boxes of various description. I usually also bring a couple of Toys for the kids that get drug along. I've never been to an event that did anything with the decor.

I've seen new GPS units, trail map packs, camo painted and fully stocked ammo boxes and other ready to hide cache containers, gift certificates for outdoors stores, tents, compasses, unactivated geocoins and travel bugs, geocaching. com hats and t-shirts, headlamps and flashlights.

I give away stocked ammo boxes. It makes for a nice prize and I get more caches to find, a win for everyone!

At events around here there's generally an empty ammo can and everybody tosses in a trade item - at the end of the day there's a nicely stocked (overstocked) ammo can to be given to somebody.

That sounds like a good idea. Even better, how bout all the TBs that get brought to the event get throwin in there, and then someone can go hide it and make it the newest TB Jail.
